How does the US Constitution influence the criminal justice system?
The Constitution give criminal defendants and suspects certain rights that are covered in the 4th amendment (prohibition against unreasonable searches and seizures) and the 6th amendment (the right to an attorney). The Criminal Justice system is affected by these rights because it ensures police and district attorneys uphold the law and allows certain crimes to be adjudicated one way and establishes guidelines for convictions of certain offenders ensuring their rights are maintained.
The Constitution also establihsed procedures for the creation of laws, which determines the branch of government that will act upon those laws within the justice system of this country. KM
This question isn't a law question in any sense that I can tell. Though the answer for why people do knife crimes as in stabbing cutting etc. is mainly what some call crimes of passion. To use a knife on a person you have to be up close and its more of a personal attack. Firing a weapon is more long range so you're more disassociated with it. But, knife crimes are very personal. It goes back to instinct. If you are in the mindset a knife is the only choice for some. While using a gun is what others would consider safe, they don't have to actually see the person hurt or die or even bleed. They don't have to know. They can just believe it and it is enough for them.

Third comes the correctional agencies, which carry out the custody and supervision of convicts in accordance with the courts' sentence and the safety of the convicts.

Yes, but that can't be used as an excuse. You could even be made an accessory to a crime without knowing it. Let's say you and a friend stop at a convenient store for a soda. Why do suicide and crime rates go up on a full moon?
Opinions differ.
Some say that there's more crime during a full moon simply because there's more natural light those nights. Enough light to make it easier to sneak around, but not enough to be easily recognized.
There's good evidence for that, as a cloudy, overcast full moon night won't show any increase in crime, while a clear (moon) night will.
Others claim that it's the influence of the moon itself which causes it. Seems a little strange in that case, if cloud cover is all it takes to cancel it out.
There is more crime during the full moon because the lunar rhythm modulates human's sleep structure and influences secretion of melatonin and cortisol hormones.

Does our criminal justice system work?
I think it's more up to the individual rather than the system, rehabilitation can work and does work. I think as taxpayers we would rather spend our money on trying to rehabilitate and educate rather than spending money our hard earned money on them to allow them to just sit on there butt. I think if anything we should want to take the risk and try to rehabilitate in prison systems so that when they have the opportunity to leave the prison system they can now contribute to society in a better way. We can't just give up.
