Is it healthy to drink milk straight from a cow?
When you put your mouth up to anything, that transfers the germs from your mouth to whatever you have touched. In this case, you would be transferring your germs to the carton, which means that, if you were to drink it later, the germs would re-transfer. And if you gave the milk to others, there is a possibility that they will get sick.
So in theory... YES, drinking out of a milk carton is definitely dangerous.
Not quite. Female "baby dairy cows" are called heifer calves; "baby cows" are called calves--singular is calf. A heifer is actually a female bovine that has been weaned but has never given birth to a calf. She is called a first-calf heifer (or cow, depending on how you look at it) when she does.
What seasons are the best time to milk a cow?
A cow can be and is often milked all year round. There is no particular season that is best to milk a cow, unless your cattle-raising practices surround the seasons, and not the more conventional year-round milking. They don't. They produce white milk, hippos produce pink milk
When they are weaned from their calves, the udder still produces milk for a few days, and the pressure is quite painful. But eventually the cow's body tells it to stop producing milk because the pressure is not being released. As she dries up, the milk is reabsorbed back into the cow's system, and her udder becomes less swollen with milk as the weeks go by. The drying up process usually takes 2 to 3 weeks.

Do all cows produce milk you drink?
Cows are mammals and all mammals make milk. Generally only dairy cows make enough milk to be considered commercially viable. Calves typically need about 2 gallons a day for 2 months. Dairy cows average 5 to 9 gallons of milk a day for 305+ days a year. Beef cows generally make only enough milk to feed their nursing calves.
Yes you can. Dairy cows that are no longer able to produce milk on the dairy farm are sold to the auction mart or slaughter houses for more money than beef cows bring at the auction mart. Dairy cows are only able to produce milk for only a few years, and as they get older their milk production ability decreases, as well as health problems such as mastitis and foot rot and other lameness issues increase as they get older. So, since there is a huge market for culled dairy cows, dairy cows that are not able to meet the producer's standards in terms of health and production, are sold to that market and turned into beef for the human and pet population, as well as for livestock producers who need animal protein to meet their animals' nurtitive needs; these include pigs and poultry.
Most dairy cows' carcasses are of such low quality that little meat is used in high-end restaurants. The meat is ground up for ground beef and sausages, as well as for dog and cat food and put into poultry and hog feed. Most of the hamburger you eat is from cull dairy cows when you eat a burger at MacDonalds, Burger King, A&W, Wendy's and other fast-food chains, and also can be found as ground beef wrapped in cellophane served on a stryofoam platter in your local supermarket.

Also, Farmers have machines that milk the cows, and these machines also homogenise and pasturise the milk. The milk is separated into the different percent catagories after it is put into the large tank. And the remaining factor is how quickly the milk arrives at the store.
I don't think so, if it's fresh you have to pasturize it.
You can freeze cow's milk, so logically should be able to freeze goat's milk.
Milk is Pasturized to destroy bad stuff such bacteria, manure, etc that may be in the milk. It also destroys the good stuff, such as the nutritional value. If you are getting your fresh milk direct from the farmer where you can see his operation and verify it's cleansiness, milk does not have to be pasturized, but that is a personal call.
Yes You can freeze raw goats milk, just not while its fresh from milking, 12 -24 hours later and its fine to
I routinely freeze my goats milk. We bring out the half gallon jars daily and let them thaw in the fridge. I milk my own goats so I feel no need to pasteurize. One thing to note, sometimes if the milk has been frozen for a while, it will separate into curds and whey. If it smells good, just put it into the blender or mixer and it will be just fine to drink. The milk my kids and I are drinking now has been frozen for almost 6 months.
