Is a dairy cow a renewable or nonrenewable resource?

yes becaus you can re plant the seed that are in them to make more

Are dairy cows slaughtered?

Yes, when they are to old to breed and the milk production drops off they are eaten. Smaller (family) dairies usually care more about their cows and will sometimes give a cow a year off if she is normally a good milker, but eventually she will have to be replaced by a younger cow. On occasion a favored cow may be turned out to field and retained as a farm pet or mascot. That is if it is a small grass based dairy and not a confinement dairy operation.

Does cheese make you fat?

Yes, but only if you eat too much of it. Cheese is high in saturated and trans fats, which is all from milk from cows. Even though cheese is high in "bad" fats, it still is nutritious in that it contains a lot of essential nutrients that is needed in your daily diet.

Do nanny goats give milk?

They give milk, yes, but they have to have been mated. They have to have had at least one kid to give milk to before they start producing milk. But if their udder is bulging they may have pre-milk, which is to prepare them.

Does bull gives milk?

A heifer does have to be bred and within weeks of giving birth, begin producing milk. It is rare, but I have seen a calf from a different dam begin to suckling a heifer six weeks before the heifer gave birth. And the heifer come into her milk. Not ideal, the heifer needed all her milk especially the colostrum for her own calf. The milk stealing calf had to be separated from the heifer.

Answer 2:

No. Heifers only produce milk when they are close to calving after they've been bred. However, there was one occaison when I seen a heifer producing milk when she was NOT bred, and was being suckled by another heifer of the same age. This in itself is very rare, as 99% of heifers that are not bred are not producing milk.

Is milking cows good for the cow's health?

I hope she's a top-quality Holstein with great genetics and great milking ability. She also has to have given birth to great daughters and have amazing conformation for a dairy cow. If Miss "Milky" meets all of these requirements, then I'd say she would be a good keeper.

Do cows give milk in the winter?

It's probably because it was too cold for the farmer to keep up with the milkings. Either that or it was too cold and miserable for the cows to be able to keep producing milk. Cows should be comfortable and warm enough to keep producing milk, but if they're too stressed from cold or sickness, or if they are not milked regularly, they will eventually dry up.

Activities that takes place in an office?

You mean to entertain yourself or just to plain old like what do people do in an office? People who work there, they tend to pick up phone calls and type on the computer. If you're there for like bring your kid to work day, it'd be fun to mess around with pens and paper and office supplies. Personally I find making rubber band highlighter catapults kinda fun.

Milk in a small sealed bottle will it go bad if stored in cool pantry?

That depends how cool the pantry is and for how long the milk is stored there. If it is as cold as a fridge, then it would spoil at the normal rate - perhaps sooner if the container was not sanitized before filling. The warmer the pantry, the faster the milk will spoil. Generally, potentially hazardous food should not be unrefrigerated for more than 2 hours, but less time is better. Cut that to one hour if the ambient temperature is around 90°F.

If no refrigerator is available, use a frozen cold pack to keep the milk cold.

What is dairy product used for?

Mostly milk, including milk products such as butter, cream, etc. Generally older cows that can no longer produce profitable quantities of milk end up as "hamburger". To maintain milk production they must drop a calf almost annually. Male calves are usually turned into veal, or steers, save a few of the best for breeding. Dairy farming, like most businesses, is "bottom line" oriented. Non-producers are eliminated, producers are rewarded, just like the real, nongovernmental world.

Which type of cow is a higher milk producer?

A dairy cow. Holsteins are the largest milk producers of all dairy breeds.

Photos of a calf drinking milk from a cow?

Photos of a calf drinking milk from a cow are fairly easy to find. Most stock photo sites would have some pictures of calves nursing from their mothers. They can also be found in books about farms and farm animals.

Do organic dairy companies impregnate the cows to produce milk?

Any warmblooded animal usually does not produce milk unless it has first produced offspring for which it produces milk from it's udder. Any cow or goat milks for a period of time after it gives birth to it's baby. We give some of the milk to the baby and keep the rest of it for ourselves. This is workable because modern ruminants are bred to produce more milk than their babies need. After a period of time that fluctuates from animal to animal, the milk production will eventually decrease to little or nothing. To keep the supply going, it is necessary to have the animal get pregnant and produce another baby. This requires either a mating between a male and female or introduction of semen which is referred to as artificial insemination. A few months or weeks before the baby is expected the animal will be let to quit producing milk so it can rest and get ready with colostrum for the baby. The milk flow will be reestablished after birth and the animal will be referred to as being back in production. This cycle is usually repeated yearly, sometimes less often.

Do cows run out of milk?

Yes. The things that can cause a cow to run out of milk is when she's really sick, has poor body condition, or is too old to be producing milk any more. Or, they run out milk after all the milk has been milked out of the udders, and they run out of milk when they are not being milked for a couple weeks.

Are dairy goats or meat goats more profitable?

Beef is more profitable. Most dairies don't even break even do to the government keeping the prices that they can sell their milk for very low. As a result companies like HOOD can make huge profits selling the milk while the dairy cant even cover the costs that it took to produce the milk in the first place. On the other hand the beef industry also has it hard and it can be difficult to make a living as a farmer no matter what kind of cattle you choose to raise. You also have a bigger starting cost with dairy cows because you have to by a lot more equipment.
