If you did not sign a contract mentioning any damage by your pet while in the care of the kennel owners, then they are the one's responsible for the damage. Their business is to care for your pet (and you pay for this service) and they simply didn't do their job. It sounds like you may have to go to small debts court, or possibly a lawyer if this kennel owner is going to "dog you." Pun intended! LOL Good luck Marcy

It looks like that the expiry date is for when the microchip has to be implanted by. So the chip will last the lifetime of your pet, but guess it needs to be implanted before a certain date.

There is no extra fee and you do not need to get your pet re-chipped

If your dog has a skin wound, it is advisable to seek advice from a veterinary surgeon, as there may be an underlying cause, a deep wound may need stitches, or systemic treatment may be necessary.

For very minor sores they should be bathed with salt water, or an approved antiseptic (e.g. '1 in 10' diluted hibiscrub). If only on the surface of the skin, it is ok to apply a small amount of sterile vaseline or sudocrem, as long as the dog does not lick it. These products are not licenced for dogs however, so monitor for any reaction and contact a vet if there is any problem, or no improvement.

I would consider using more positive methods of training on a young puppy. If you're worried about bloodshot eyes as a result of choke chain corrections, you're probably correcting too severely anyway. Choke chains can cause damage to the dog's neck and windpipe if used incorrectly, as well as cause behavioral problems due to overcorrection. Maybe consider clicker training instead?
