I would start around 4 months with the weight of a deactivated collar and walking the perimeter. At 5 months I would train using the flags and weight of the deactivated collar, I would not turn on the collar until the puppy is 6 months old. By that time the puppy should have the regime down pat and will not test the collar more than a few times.

First, get the puppy used to the lead and collar by gradually building up the time they have them on and giving a lot of treats and praise.
When out on a walk, if the puppy pulls do a U-turn. They will soon learn that pulling doesn't make them go forward faster but actually makes them go backwards. This method takes patience but the puppy should eventually get the message and be able to walk properly on lead.

You're not kicking it you're touching it. When you have their attention get them to sit or lay down on his/her back to get them to a calm submissive state of mind.

If you want to introduce a aggressive dog show its rear to the other to smell it (I would recommend using a mussel and a professional to help).

Open the door and gently push the animal out. Then close the door and wait. Just remember, if it's really bitterly cold, try not to leave the animal out for more than around three minutes at the most. Well i have never had that problem, but i heard that you can use scentless deodorant, men's. But you might want to ask a vet first. Also another way is to just train them different, encourage them to chew on something else. And remember don't punish dogs they cant understand that. But love them lots and lots. well, the biggest and most obvious reason is that dog loves humans. it doesnt matter if you are the dog's owner or not. They still know that for the most part, they are safe with humans. So, they walk on the left side to prtect you from the cars (if you are walking on a sidewalk). They want to be the first one to be hit if a car is about to hit you. dogs are sweet, i know

She lives outside where she can do her job when ever and where ever she wants. She is not housebroken.

Just because she is out and now you want to bring her in does not mean she will or will not.. potty in the house.

She is used to going out side and will give you clues she needs out. You will need to watch for the clues. Her age will be a factor as well.

Some of the clues are walking or running all over the house smelling the floor or looking for the way out. I suggest a training line on her when she is inside, this is not a leash, it is 20 foot or longer. This way she can not go into another room to do her potty. You will have the other end in your hand and be paying attention to her. If she is excited to be in( all wiggly) then take her out in five minutes she will tinkle most likely. then bring her back in. I would walk her in the front yard as this would encourage her to tinkle faster.( new smells) say the word break,in command voice, say again while she is going and again afterwards adding good girl. I don't know if you can stop it, but to keep her from damaging her bed put down an extra sheet or blanket. She is probably trying to make a nest, but cant because that material is attached to the dog bed.

There is very little you can do at home to stop a dog's diarrhea, and much of what you can try presumes the problem is stress or a minor intestinal infection. You can try adding some canned pumpkin or beets to your dog's food (no salt added, preferrably) to add some fiber, which may help solidify your dog's stools. You can also try waiting it out a couple of days.

However, if your dog is acting otherwise ill (doesn't want to play, doesn't want to eat, etc.) or if the diarrhea doesn't resolve in a couple of days, you need to take your dog to your veterinarian for an examination.

Incidentally, you should NEVER give your dog human medications - dogs are very sensitive to human medications and you can cause a severe overdose or even death with them.

Well i walk my dog 2 times a day, and i walk him for about a half hour or so in the day time. At night when i walk him i would say about half an hour to 45 minute's depending on the weather and the time maybe less if i let him off the leash because he runs wild, but your dogs need at least one walk a day.

There are two kinds of growling: play growling and 'I mean it' growling. Play growling can safely be ignored. 'I mean it' growling should be taken seriously and evaluated by an expert. Play growling naturally occurs during play. The whole rest of the dog's body is expressing playfulness. Play growling uses shorter syllables and the pitch goes up and down rapidly. It's almost as if the pup is trying to talk. I think they sound like crusty old pirates. "Arrr Arrr, Me Hardy!"

There's also something that sounds a little like growling, but is actually groaning. Again, the dog's body language gives a clue. If he is relaxed and not making eye contact, odds are it is a groan.

However, if a dog stares you straight in the eyes and emits a long, steady, low growl, with his body tense, he is warning that if you persist he will bite. If he's growling at you, you have a problem that should be addressed with the help of an expert. Handling it wrong or trying to fix it yourself based on something you've seen on TV about dominance can get you seriously injured.

If you're insistant on trying it on your own, try a non-confrontational approach like the NILIF (Nothing In Life Is Free) program. This program may be effective if the problem is resource guarding (ie growling when you try to take food or a toy away or try to move them from a chair or the bed).

If this is the case then the dog should be put somewhere away from any children that may visit your home or muzzled until you get the dog trained. Also tying up your dog in the yard is a no-no. Dogs can be 'shamed' when they do something wrong (one should never hit a dog) and loved and praised when they do something right. My husband and I hired a good trainer instead of going to over-crowded classes. Our dogs listen to commands well and also watch our hand signals. Believe it or not we use "grunts" if we are displeased with them or want them to do something such as coming back to us if they are chasing something. For instance, if they are growling we will get up and investigate as to why (usually it's the mailman, paper boy, etc.) but there were times when strangers came to our house that we had our doubts about. We simply say, "eh!" in a sharp tone or "huh" in a different tone. Then we pet the dog and tell them to lay down while we investigate the problem. There are times it's been dark in the backyard and I'll let my dogs investigate, but then give the command after a minute or two for them to come to my side. A well trained dog is a total pleasure to have around and others get to enjoy them as well. * Training is the key to all behavioral problems with animals. You first have to teach your dog that you are the leader or "Alpha Male," and then you need to communicate to him what kinds of behaviors are acceptable or unacceptable. There is an excellent television series called "The Dog Whisperer" that teaches and demonstrates how to deal with behavioral problems in dogs. * Try to coax him off with a treat. If there's one thing my beagle can't resist, it's food. Then, whenever he gets off the furniture without growling or biting or takes criticism without howling, give him a reward. Hopefully, this will encourage him to continue his good behavior and stop the bad behavior. * No don't use a treat, that only reinforces bad behavior. Something deeper is going on then just him wanting to sit on the couch. Your dog is acting like a pack leader would act. He sees you as lower then him in the pact and he's letting you know that he doesn't like it when you move him off the couch. * I'm going to guess that in general, he acts out or behaves badly in a lot of situations. This is because you as the owner are not being the pack leader like you should be. He is seeing weakness in you and by his nature as a dog, is assuming the role as pack leader. * You need to be taking the attitude with him that what you says goes. I'm not talking about beating him into submission, you should never, ever beat a dog. Your voice needs to be firm and you need to stand firm when dealing with him. And reward behavior that is good, such as submitting to you or doing what you want. A reward doean't have to be a food treat. A few warm words and a head rub goes a long way toward reinforcing good behavior. * You might also check you local paper to see if there are any trainors in your area. And I'm not talking about just training your dog. You need to be trained also on how to be a proper pack leader for a dog. == ==

Do NOT provoke or initiate aggressive behavior with a dog. Dogs are potentially dangerous animals that can kill you, and many will attack if they feel they are in danger. Also to consider, you never know what kind of diseases a dog may be carrying.

Crate training is very important. It not only aids tremendously in housetraining but it also provides a safe place for your dog or puppy. Try giving your dog a very special treat, one that they only receive while in their crate. For example, a Kong filled with peanut butter or cottage cheese and rice.

Dogs have a broader frequency range than humans. The dog whistle is a very high frequency. Women can hear higher frequencies than men. Some women can hear dog whistles. Men generally cannot hear dog whistles.

What i have heard is that they're not doing it for sexual reasons, but doing it to show dominance. You must teach your dog that he is at the bottom of the pack and not the top. A tip i've read in training books is to pretend to eat their food.

The human ear can only detect sounds of a frequency between 20 cycle/second and 20,000 cycles/second at the very best. Dogs can hear sounds with a greater frequency. A typical a dog whistle is within the range of 16000 cycles/second to 22000 cycles/second. To put it more technically, a dog's inner ear vibrates or resonates to the high frequency sound waves of a dog whistle but our ears do not.

Its the same with bats, they are constantly sending out high frequency sounds, to locate flying insects but our inner ears don't resonate at those high frequencies and so we don't hear the constant "chirping" sound that they are making.

I have experienced my puppy scratching on the door as well, and even our sliding screen door.

One of the things I have read said to ignore the scratching. When you open a door for a dog that is jumping or scratching, you are teaching them that those behaviors open the door!

My dog hates the sound of coins being shaken around in an empty soda can. I have been teaching her that scratching or jumping on the door results in the obnoxious noise that she hates, and it has been working pretty well so far.
