There is no such thing as a "purebred white cat" or a "purebred black cat." "Black" and "white" are just coat colors, like "tabby" or "calico." They are not breeds or species. A tabby has stripes on its forehead usually that look sort of like an M. Look at pics closely and you can see it!! :) That's my own way of telling its either all tabby or part tabby. A tortishell cat has not patches but brindled brown and black fur. A Calico which people confuse for Tortishells has Brown , Black and white fur that's patched. :)

It depends upon where you come from. In various places around the world, a black cat (and all other cats) are considered good luck when they cross your path. However, if they sit down in the middle of crossing your path or if they bolt across in front of you, it's considered bad luck.

In America and Britain it is considered bad luck for a black cat to cross your path, however, if you stroke the cat's back four times take a step away from the cat, and spin three times, the bad luck is said to go away.

Basically, breeding with rats is the same as breeding with mice. You just get a male and female rat and put them together. Leave them together for a while. After the mating takes place, separate them if you wish. But, you MUST remove the male before the babies are born or he may cannibalise (eat) them. If you would like to, you can put another female (who recently had babies) with the mother to be a foster mother if the real mother needs to sleep or something like that. When the babies are about 4 months old, separate them according to their gender or you might end up with unexpected litters of rats. Good luck with your breeding!!!

My Maine Coon is only a bit over 12 lbs. but can stretch out in length from tips of toes on hind feet to tips of toes on front feet a length somewhere between 3 and 4 feet.
