It would be very hard to differentiate a fake license from the true one because both use the same kind of card -- both are from the original pvc plastic cards. What are usually faked are the details -- names, addresses, restriction numbers, license numbers, etc. On site, one way is to ask for secondary ids to confirm the identification of the driver. Another is to ask for the official receipt of the particular license shown.
