How rapidly does Quartz vibrate?

Quartz vibrates when a voltage is applied between opposite faces of a crystal.

The frequency of the vibration depends on the thickness of the crystal, and on

the direction of the faces compared to the natural planes in the crystal structure.

Who makes Werker batteries?

The Werker label on SLI batteries is sold at Batteries Plus and made by East Penn.

That is NOT correct! Werker is a Batteries Plus privately owned brand name. Werker labeled batteries can be made by anyone that Batteries Plus has entered into a private label agreement with. When going to their store it is likely that their Werker batteries are made by 12 plus people. In the SLI automotive batteries they use Exide as their primary, they do have an agreement with East Penn as well and several other Mexican battery manufacturers. Problem with a Batteries Plus is you don't know what you're buying but it is likely you are buying whatever they could get the cheapest the day they needed batteries.

The manufacturer of the Batteries Plus branded SLI battery depends on where the store is located. My local store orders directly from Exide Batteries Corp. and East Penn. Corp. From my past experiences working for an auto parts store East Penn has one of the best automotive offerings on all batteries while Exide has a lot less. I sold East Penn for years and was very familiar with their products and how they worked. Also keep in mind most Battery Plus stores are franchises not corporately owned.

Do electronics work better in the heat or cold?

Electronics built on current technology typically works best at low temperatures. For certain applications, very low temperatures (even as low as 0K) are ideal, as conductivity increases and approaches superconductivity at this temperature.

Superconductivity means no loss of energy in heat, and allows for certain electronic devices to operate much more efficiently and potentially faster than at higher temperatures.

However, today's practical electronics are not designed for operation at very low temperature. Some electronic components, such as some forms of resistors or capacitors will fail at low temperatures. Other components, including the solder, wires, the circuit board and all mechanical parts including connectors would become fragile, brittle, or otherwise struggle.

Today's electronics are normally rated for operation in a 0..70C temperature range (commercial grade), -40..+85C (industrial grade) and -55..+125 (military grade).

For a rule of thumb and for today's practical electronics, "room temperature" is a good operating temperature regardless of theoretical advantages of superconductivity.

How much did the ultra glide record player cost in 1963?

the ultra glide record player of 1963 costed only one penny cheap

Does the riddex electronic pest repeller stop working?

The Riddex pest repeller produces high-frequency sound waves that are harmless to humans and pets (except rodents), but which are heard by insects and rodents and are supposed to drive them away. This may sound good in theory, but it doesn't work in practice. At best, electronic pest repellers may work for a few hours or days, but they apparently have no long-term effect on pests. Also, many people claim that they can hear a whining and/or buzzing noise made by the repellers. After numerous complaints, the company that produces Riddex agreed with the FTC to not make certain claims as to their product's effectiveness. You can read the agreement on the FTC site: http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2003/07/global.shtm

Where are the electronic bulletin boards in Pokemon white?

The electronic bulletin boards are in every gate. Gates are between every town/city and route

What does 63 whr mean?

It stands for watt-hour. In relationship to batteries, it measures how many watts in an hour a battery can sustain. A 63 watt-hour battery will supply 63 watts for 1 hour, or 6.3 watts for 10 hours or 31.5 watts for 2 hours, etc. It is extremely difficult to determine, from this number, how long your equipment (say, a laptop) will run using a 63 hour battery. The thing for which this number is most useful is battery comparison. A 20 WHr battery will last twice as long as a 10 WHr battery and half as long as a 40 WHr battery and so on.

Can a CD player damage a CD?

A properly operating CD player will not damage a CD because there is no physical contact with the disc except in the center, where no music is stored, however a defective player can damage the disc if the alignment is off causing the disc to touch the internal components of the player.

Can a transistor short circuit?

Yes from over current from power surges, over driving by the user in case of amplifiers, or other component failure around the transistor. Also overheating can cause transistor failure from poor ventilation or loos heatsink.

What is the difference between SCART and AV sockets on televisions?

A scart connector is found in many European televisions and players. It is a multi-pin connector that carries video and audio signals as well as some control signals. The video signal can be composite, S-video, RGB or component and is decided by the output or input device. The control signals allow a television to detect when a player or receiver is active and can switch to the right input automatically. In later equipment, infra red signals can also be carried from one device to another using the control cables. Some connectors also allow signals to be carried in both directions.

AV connectors carry the same signals but normally with a single connector per signal. For example, three connectors are needed for composite video, left audio and right audio. Although the signals are identical to those used in a scart connector, wiring is more complex. Automatic input switching is not a feature of separate AV connections.

The scart connector made equipment connections very easy but the quality of connection tends to be poor compared to individual connectors. They are known for pulling out of sockets due to the weight of cable attached to the connector. Scarts are now becoming rare as HDMI interfaces are becoming the standard for player to television links.

How do you test a relay with a 9v battery?

You can test a relay with and without a 9 volt battery. If you apply 9 volts to it and it's sufficient to turn on the relay, the NO switch will close and then have continuity with common. If you don't apply voltage, the NO switch will be open and not have continuity with common. You can use these continuity and resistance checks to test a relay to see if it works.
