It's mainly because their bodies are built differently than ours, and their body fluids have different chemicals and different combinations of fluids run through their blood, allowing them to not only have access to natural (and I suppose if you want to go new age it would be supernatural as well) "power" that they draw from nature and their inner selves, but, consequentially making them allergic or intolerable to any new metals from deep within the cores where they have never ventured before. So it's a new substance to them, and there is a combination of chemicals in their bodies (as explained before) that makes them intolerable to Iron, or iron-based substances. In Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely however, the Royal Fey can hold a glamour (or a disguise that humans without the Sight can see, in order for them to blend in.) and enter places and touch things that have iron substance, or are pure iron, while still holding that Glamour. For other Fey however, Iron causes them dicomfort and even pain.

They are found everywhere! Only outside though. To get one and take care of it, have it trust you and make a so called 'fairy house.' Put gifts and other sparkly things and put a little tiny ssewing kit ans some cloth so they can make their clothes and then it may like you. Well, hope it helped. :D

Well pretty much all faeries are bad and toment people and everything, but the worse kind of faeries come from the Unseelie Court, and the "good" faeries come from the Seelie Court. They don't have any special names, they're still just called faeries..
