Does everyone have a twin?

no God made us different and only A FEW AS TWINS

5 weeks 5 days pregnant had ultrasound done. Saw gestational sac and fetal pole but on right of that there was a pocket of fluid. What can that be?

That happened to me when I was pregnant with my son. The fluid is blood. All the nurse told me to do is to take it easy and that I may spot in the next following days. Don't worry! I spotted once and never again. My son is 20 months. Also I am pregnant again and have the same thing again! I am 5 weeks 1 day. Totally normal...again. Hope this helps!!

At six weeks pregnant what does it mean when a doctor does an ultrasound and states she can see blood outside the sac?

I had that. I also have a progesterone deficiency, but I started progesterone supplements and am now 13 weeks pregnant and they didn't see any evidence of bleeding on my last ultrasound last week. The doctor who told me about the bleed at six weeks, when I said "What does that mean?" said "sometimes we see that in early pregnancy. We like to not see it, but sometimes we do." How's that for a non-answer?!?

Is 16 wks and no fetal heartbeat normal?

YOu really need to talk to your doctor or nurse about this as you have not said why you cannot hear a heartbeat.

Can a ruptured corpus luteum cyst affect the baby in any way?

No, not usually. The cyst will disappear via shrinking or rupture when the placenta takes over. The only exception is if the rupture causes torsion (twisting) of your ovary, and then there may be a need for medical intervention to save the ovary.

Can you hear maternal heart rate with fetal monitor I have a Doppler but all I can pick up is slow wooshing that matches my pulse.?

you can absolutley pick up your own heart beat instead of the babies, the babies will be faster and may be difficult to pick up sometimes depending on babies position.

Should your baby kick lots?

While in the womb or after he or she is born? The baby tends to kick a lot when you start approaching your third trimester. Babies that are born tend to kick often too, especially when upset or excited.

When your pupils dialate does that mean you have a fast heartbeat?

No, although the two may both be signs of sympathetic nervous system stimulation, so often they're seen at the same time, though there is no cause-and-effect relationship.

Can you feel the babys heart beat?

No, you can never feel it but at the ultrasound you can see and hear it.

How do you know when uterus is rising above pelvic bone?

Generally this happens around 12 weeks of pregnancy. Your healthcare practitioner can feel the top of your uterus by pressing on your belly. I wouldn't try this at home yet, it's still pretty hard to feel.

The definition of fetal death is the death of a fetus after 20 weeks of gestation or 500 gm But if a dead fetus is only about 10 weeks old Then what does that mean?

Medically it is called an inevitable abortion as abortion is the term used for any cessation of pregnancy before the baby is viable (able to live on its own). However most people would say that this is a miscarriage and if the baby is not 'miscarried' in a few days the woman would have to have a D & C to remove it as it can cause severe and even fatal infections.

This is your first pregnancy and you were wondering how do you know when the baby's head drops and what do contractions feel like?

Sometimes it is difficult to tell when the head drops and in some pregnancies the baby might not descend until quite late in labor. Some signs are a feeling of pressure low down, walking seems a bit more awkward than usual, an increase in discharge or urination, and even just visually seeing that your bump has moved downward. Often people will tell you that it has! Bachache is another sign, but this is so common at other stages of pregnancy that you couldn't rely on it. Some women actually feel the baby drop quite suddenly, especially if this happens in labor.

Contractions are difficult to describe. They do start off like period pains, in a wave like pattern starting vaguely and building to a peak and dying away again. There is a sensation of tight squeezing . They increase as the labor goes on. I would be lying if I said that they aren't extremely painful at the end because they are - for most women - and it is better to be prepared to face them. Mostly you get an opportunity to get accustomed to them as the labor goes on and there are many good ways to deal with the pain.

Why would an ultrasound last week show an embryo and heartbeat and this week show a empty sac and no heartbeat?

There might be a problem with the pregnancy. Generally I would say the pregnancy is not viable if there was one there last week and now its gone. I had the same issue but waited a week to do another ultrasound and there was a baby with a heartbeat. I have no idea how common this is, but I call my little 20 month old my little angel!

When did teen pregnancy start?

First of all, teenagers didn't exist until the 1800's. The word was invented to prolong childhood. Second, teenagehood was the ideal time for child bearing since man began to the late 1800's. Then teens became considered more of children than adults. Third, teen pregnancy has always been around just it wasn't considered socially unacceptable before.

What features of a fetus can you see at four weeks?

Your embryo may be the size of a mere poppy seed, but trust us, uber-important developments are already under way. This week the embryo splits into two parts. One half will become the placenta, a special tissue that delivers must-haves like nutrients and oxygen to your baby throughout your entire pregnancy. In the other half, the embryo itself continues to grow, and a sheet of cells has just begun to create the neural tube, where your baby's brain, spinal cord, and backbone will ultimately form. Taking a folic acid-packed prenatal supplement -- look for one with at least 400 micrograms per pill -- helps ensure that these organs develop properly.

I think i might be pregnant i feel bubbly movements and taps on the left and right side of my stomach could this be the baby moving?

Have you taken a pregnancy test? That would be the first thing I would do. Women don't generally feel fetal movement until approximately 14-18 weeks gestation. So if you are feeling "baby moving" you need to get to the OB and start prenatal care ASAP. The thing I would sugest would be to go get it checked out at the nearest clinic so you can be shoure.

Is it possible to hear a babys heart beat loud and strong at nine weeks pregnant?

With a doctors "listener" it can be heard. I wouldn't say loud and clear, but it's possible it could be loud and clear, depends on the woman and the baby.

AnswerYes I heard my babys heartbeat at 9 weeks pregnant with a at home fetal monitor. AnswerA vaginal ultra sound can detect a heartbeat as soon as 6 weeks gestation but more commonly at 7-8 weeks. The fetal Doppler used on the outside of your belly should pick up a heartbeat at 12 weeks clearly. AnswerA fetal heartbeat can be heard as early as 8-10 weeks pregnant using a good fetal Doppler such as one rented from Tummy Tickles or a company like that. AnswerYes it can be heard. I had an ultrasound at 7 weeks and heart it perfectly and then again at 9 weeks on a Doppler in the doctors office.

Is it true that one twin can absorb the other twin and then have two different DNA types when it is born?

I have no idea, but it was on CSI and they are known for being truthful so I'd say it's true, but very, very rare. Yes it is very true and very uncommon. If life teaches you anything let it teach you this: 'Nothing is impossible... just highly improbable at times.'

Yes, this can happen. People with two types of DNA are called chimeras after a mythical creature with a lion's head, a goat's body, and a serpent's tail (individuals are also called mosaics). These people have two different sets of DNA in different parts of the body.

There are 3 ways this can happen:

The absorbing the other twin.

When twins share a placenta and their blood ends up mixing.

The last one is more the people that are called mosaics where when the cells divide they don't make an exact copy of the DNA so some of the cells will be different.

It was on CSI and TLC did a special on it where the state was going to take the womans baby away because when they did the test she wasn't the paternal mother even though it really was her baby. Yes, it is called Vanishing Twins Syndrome. Either the other fetus or the mother reabsorbs the tissue from the "vanished" twin.

What are possible alternative causes for Chadwicks sign Hegars sign Goodells sign Braxton Hicks or Ballottement?

Ballottement indicates an increase of fluid over the patella at the knee joint - this has more to do with an injury or infection and nothing to do with pregnancy.

Braxton Hicks or practice contractions are uterine contractions not usually felt until the second trimester or third trimester of pregnancy - the only cause of Braxton Hicks is pregnancy.

Chadwick's sign is a bluish discoloration of the cervix, vagina, and labia caused by the hormone estrogen, its presence is an early sign of pregnancy.

Goodell's Sign is a softening of the cervix and vagina - an indication of pregnancy.

Hegar's sign is a softening at the cervix (lower end) and the fundus (top of) the uterus - an indication of pregnancy.

While similar conditions may have alternative causes - Braxton Hick's, Chadwick's, Goodell's and Hegar's are all found in pregnancy.

How is a heart beat produced?

The heart beat, also called heart sounds, is produced by the closing of the valves. The valves produce two sounds, known as lub-dub. The atrioventricular valve closing produces the first sound, or lub, and the semilunar valve closing produces the second sound, or dub.
