What kind of dieseses can stop a child's heart?
Actual stopping of the heart is not usually the direct result of a specific disease process, but it more the result of other problems the disease induces. Actual sudden-onset asystole occurs more frequently as the result of a trauma or accident instead of a disease process. Diseases -- even heart diseases -- usually have a slower onset, and have precursor symptoms, which one hopes to discover before the event. For common infantile diseases that can attack the heart, Rubella or Scarlet Fever came to mind but, as I look at the research, the number of Rubella related infant deaths since 1969, when the vaccine was invented, is extraordinarily low.

If you get in a fight and your eye becomes bllodshot how long does your eye remain bloodshot?
Barring other symptoms, you should see some improvement in a week, with the problem being mostly if not totally gone in a month. If the eye continues to tear, leaks a yellowish fluid, displays signs of a laceration on the eyeball itself, or doesn't improve, it's off to the doctor for you. Reddened sclera is a very common inertial trauma that usually clears up without complications.
You got punched in the temple and you are getting headaches is this dangerous?
Can be. The temple isn't well-protected, so trauma can extend inwards (this is why people hit you there). I'd do better answering this if you mention how long ago the incident occured, whether you were unconscious at any point, how often the headaches occur and for how long. and a number of other pertinent facts. Workling with what I have, I'd say call your doc and see if he can make this call.
What will happen if you are stabbed with glass in a nerve?
It completely depends on the individual, how hard you're stabbed, etc.
If the nerve receptor were completely obliterated, which is unlikely, pain from that nerve shouldn't be felt. Its highly likely the wound would hurt immensely though.

Does dog saliva help clean human wounds?
I am an avid dog lover, but this idea is a very dangerous one to promote. While there may be some evidence that dog saliva contains enzymes that promote healing in some cases, there are also real possibilities of being seriously and badly infected by dog saliva. Love your dogs like crazy and take care of them, but don't let them lick your wounds. Standard care of your wounds will work fine, and any possible benefits from dog saliva are NOT WORTH THE RISK of very serious infections that you might inadvertently get from your furry buddy.

What will happen if you draw on an open cut with a sharpie?
Depends if you scratch it in, if you do it will "tattoo" and stay there for a long time, or forever! This is how people make homemade tattoos in prison.
If you where to just tip it in there then it would be slightly discoloured and most likely fade in time!
What does it mean if you have a choking fetish?
It means that you enjoy Auto-erotic Asphyxiation. It does not mean that you are weird or abnormal.
BUT ...
Never do this alone.
This is an extremely dangerous activity! Cutting off the oxygen to your brain kills brain cells. You may not notice this at first, but it's happening. Auto-erotic Asphyxiation can also cause death. (Take a look at the discussion page.)
If you choose to participate in this fetish, PLEASE establish a SAFE WORD OR SAFE SIGNAL with your partner! You can't enjoy sex if you're dead. Safety should always come first!
Can you get freon poisoning from your air conditioner?
No. Freon is non-toxic, but one can suffocate from breathing Freon, just as one might suffocate from breathing carbon dioxide and not getting fresh air within 10-30 seconds, or so. Freon's lack of toxicity is precisely why it revolutionized refrigeration, particularly in the home, in the 1930s.
Why does my nose burn after I use nasal spray?
Do you use it a lot? Or have you used it for more then 3 days?
If you have it's probably because the lining in your nose is irritated by the over use.
I would suggest taking a break from it, even if you haven't over used it.
Try Saline nasal spray, it should help. I would try 4-Way Saline nasal spray, expessially
If you have been over using, it really helps for the over use of decongestant sprays.
However, if you haven't been using it for more then 3 days or using it too often, I would ask your doctor, and either way, lay off the nasal spray, it may be really damaging your nose.
Why is slurry of charcoal given orally to suspected poison victims?
Activated charcoal is a superb absorbant. It works a lot better than gastric lavage in most cases as it traps the toxins. It also precludes the need for emetics like ipecac (from the very old days). And with charcoal -- there's really very few downsides. If it doesn't work against the specific toxin, it still won't make things worse. It shouldn't be given to a patient with no bowel sounds, with a suspected obstruction, but that's a pretty rare combo with an acute GI poisoning.
Are bumps under the skin after a bug bite a concern?
No, not usually. This is assuming that you mean a single lump at the site of the bite. Lumps under the skin are a normal reaction to the allergen introduced by the insect, although not everyone has this reaction to them.
The bumps can be itchy, but not very painful. They should disappear within a few days; this can be expedited by the topical application of an over-the-counter steroid cream such as hydrocortisone.
If the bumps are very large, develop a rash or are painful, then you may wish to see a doctor. Also, be wary of a more serious reaction to the bites which may manifest as a systemic allergic reaction such as rash, difficulty breathing, fever etc.
What are the three steps for proventing shock and for giving first aid for shock are?
It depends how many injuries the person has in the accident. DO NOT MOVE THE VICTIM; check to be sure they are breathing and airways are open (if not CPR is a must whether you suspect broken chest or rib bones.) Cover the patient with a jacket, blanket or your own body until help comes. Our own bodies generate heat. Talk to the victim and keep them awake (if it's possible) in case of concussion. If alone (this is dangerous) and for example someone is changing a tire and the car falls on their arm and is badly injured, the body goes into shock to protect itself. However, before jacking up the car off the victim's arm, and if possible (airways open and victim speaking) you should give them salt and water (at least 4 ounces) before removing the weight from their arm. This is a quick way to reduce severe shock until you can get the ambulance there or get them to a hospital. This method should only be used when there is no help for miles around or it will be a couple of hours before help comes. A tourniquet is used to stop the blood flow, but must be tightened and loosened every 10 - 15 minutes.
