Why was the Flashlight Invented?

The flashlight was invented to provide portable and convenient source of light that can be easily carried and used in various settings, especially during emergencies or in situations where immediate light is needed. It was a practical solution to enhance visibility in dark or poorly lit areas.

Why do some lights and torches have a shiny back?

Lights and torches with a shiny back have a reflector component that helps redirect and focus the light emitted by the bulb forward, improving the overall brightness and efficiency of the light source. This design enhances the reach and intensity of the light beam produced by the device.

Who invented the flashlight?

It was invented by Conrad Hubert in 1902.

When was the flashlight invented?

The flashlight was invented in the late 19th century, around 1899, by British inventor David Misell. He patented the first ever flashlight design, which used a battery, bulb, and a small incandescent light in a tube.

Where can you find a circuit diagram to build your own flashlight?

Go onto ebay or visit a hoby store another idea is to go to a website on how to build a flash light

Can a Flashlight in eye hurt you?

Can a flashlight shone in your eyes cause you pain? Yes. Can it trigger a migraine? Yes. Can it exacerbate an already occurring migraine? Most definitely, yes.

Can a flashlight shone in the eye cause permanent damage? That is a question which depends entirely upon the candlepower (measurement of strength of light) of the flashlight.

For laser pointers the answer is the same.

Can you bring a flashlight on an international flight?

Some flashlights are allowed, but the larger ones are prohibited. Large flashlights are the types that take C and D cell batteries. Smaller flashlights like the AA Mini-Mags are fine. All tools must be under 7 inches long.

How does a flashlight work?

A flashlight has a power source (usually ordinary batteries), a light source of some sort (a light bulb or LED, for example), and some electrical wiring to connect them, with a switch to turn it on and off. The power source makes the light source give off light.

Why does the military use red flashlights?

The color red helps to preserve a persons 'night vision'. If white light were used and a soldier heard something and tried to look out into the darkness, he couldn't see much.

true but not totally true. red still makes most colors visible to the eye more-so than other colors and it has the least amount of ambient light so the soldier cant be detected while reading a map by the light reflecting off of it. red also doesnt travel as far of a distance than other colors so the enemy cant see it far away or even fairly close up. finally red is just the best color to use at night because you can still see ahead of you (not far) but someone else wouldn't see the light unless they accually saw the bulb itself, the ambient light (excess light emitted which is unused and not in the focused beam) cant be seen at all at night over a certain distance too.

hoped that helps

How much current flows through a 12 ohm flashlight bulb operating at 3.0 volts?

Ohm's Law: Voltage = current x resistance; solving for voltage, current = voltage / resistance.

Ohm's Law: Voltage = current x resistance; solving for voltage, current = voltage / resistance.

Ohm's Law: Voltage = current x resistance; solving for voltage, current = voltage / resistance.

Ohm's Law: Voltage = current x resistance; solving for voltage, current = voltage / resistance.

A flashlight bulb with a potential difference of 4.5 V across it's filament has a power to output 8.0 W how much current is in the bulb filament?

A few comments first of all. Current flows 'through', not 'across'. There is no such thing as 'electrical power'; power is power -period! The symbol for volts is 'V', not 'v'.

To answer your question, you can find the power of the lamp using the equation: P = U I

where:

P = power in watts

U = potential difference in volts

I = current in amperes

How does a dynamo flashlight work?

A dynamo flashlight works by producing its own electricity. The flashlight has a crank that is turned by the operator. The crank runs a small generator inside that produces enough electric to run the flashlight.

Most flashlights have series circuits true or false?

Yes. Most flashlights have a series circuit involving a battery, a switch, and a bulb. More complex variants might have two bulbs in parallel, two or more bulbs on two switches, etc. but the basic principle is a series circuit - turn the switch on and the bulb illuminates.

Can a flashlight go underwater?

The flashlight products currently on the market, non-professional diving flashlights, generally mid-to-high-end brands such as Fenix, Olight, and CYANSKY, etc., all have IPX8 waterproof function, which means that the flashlight can still work underwater within a depth of 2 meters. Some flashlights will be IPX7 waterproof, which means that they can still work underwater within a depth of 1 meter. You can check whether the flashlight has the function of IPX8 waterproof when purchasing a flashlight.
