I don't see why not. They often will shine it in your eyes and get away with it because they insist it "causes no harm or injury". Being that you pay their salary, I'd say it's perfectly fine to shine a light in their eyes. Hey, it's not like it caused any "harm or injury". Just an innocent little light. You have a right to check them out and make sure you can see who you're dealing with.

This could be either a very small sized butane torch for soldering and related low-heat metal fusing tasks ( not strictly speaking welding, no helmets needed)- or what we in this country generally call a penlight flashlight- many are variable focus and produce very little heat and can be comfortably held in the hand at all times ( though this would block the beam) quite an engineering feat compared with hot-headed incandescent bulbs of say l00 watts. the British prefer the term Torch to flashlight for some odd reason , though they do market the Ever-ready brand of flashlights and requisite batteries.

Unfortunately those batteries were discontinued.

They were made for the Huskey hand held spotlight and they have since changed designs and battery styles (Spell that "Planned Obsolescence") your best bet is find a local hobby store that does R/C cars and planes. most of those guys build and/or repair Lithium battery packs for customers, see if they will put together a 6 volt pack using rechargeable AA size with a pigtail that will connect to your set-up. It will be a hair smaller and will require some additional foam padding to keep it secure

This does not have the longevity of the lead acid original, but makes it serviceable, or, if your handy and knowledgeable about balanced charging battery packs you can put one together using an old dewalt or milwaukee "A" style batteries from one of there lithium style packs which fit nicely into the space of the old DMU style.

But, And I can't stress this enough, don't attempt that unless your familiar with that style of pack as lithium batteries are somewhat temperamental to heat and are unforgiving if assembled wrong

A ultrasound is exacty how it sounds. It sends out waves of sounds that bounces around your stomach and bumps into matter which then turns around and produces a picture for you. A laser light/flash light is used to light up space and is measured in sight not sound. If you stick a flashlight/laser light down a long dark tunnel it will only go so far as light can only be seen to a certain distance which is measured in how much power is produced. Yet, if you lets say put a light upto something that is not opaque and is hard to see thru as it is you won't be able to get the light to go thru the other side.
