Sea horses feed on small crustaceans that float in water or crawl on the ocean floor. They also eat Mysid Shrimp which are a favorite. Some sea horses have been seen eating other invertibrates and even larva fish.

In a tropical rainforest:

Fish eat plankton => platypus eat small fish => crocodiles eat platypus.

Birds eat seeds, nektar and fruit => Tree snakes eat birds and their eggs => jaguars eat tree snakes.

Bats and possums eat nektar => Ocelots eat bats and possums.

Frogs, lizards and microbats eat insects => Poisonous snakes and kookaburras eat frogs and lizards (and microbats if they get one).

Tree kangaroos eat plants => crocodiles eat tree kangaroos if they get a chance.

Where the energy goes to, in other words, what is doing the eating.

For example if the arrow is pointing from a rodent to a snake, the energy from the rodent is going to the snake (when it eats the rodent).

From what I learned in my science class we would always Put the decomposers at the very bottom but I don't know if that is correct.since a food web is many overlapping food chains that show how energy flows through an ecosystem I think that the producers should be at the very bottom. Sorry

They are part of a food chain cause in yellowstone park their are endangerd trees cause the deer and moose eat them so if the wolves eat the deer and moose their is going to be more trees

well if it is in a prairie the chain is different for example grass to mouse to snake to hawk, the predators and plant life changes in different regions

A predator is an organism that eats another organism. All predators are consumers but not all consumers are predators. Consumers consume other oganisms, animal, plant and fungi. Producers are at the bottom of the food chain. They take sunlight and produce energy used to power the food web of life.

Worms come under the detritivore class: they eat the decaying leaf litter and their faeces are then further broken down by decomposers. And detritivores can take on many forms. Scavenging birds, some rodents, insects (and their larvae) and even larger animals such as coyotes and hyenas eat the decaying matter left behind by plants and animals.

When all food chains in a habitat are joined together in some way, they form a food web. They are normally several food chains all joined up together which may include the same predator or prey in more than one food chain. hope this helps

Producers are placed at the bottom of the food chain because the do not eat other living organisms and instead get their energy though the sun.
