How do you remove the window crank handle on 2001 e250 van?
I don't know how you're supposed to fix it but I'll tell you how I fixed the malfunctioning handle on the rear door of my 1994 E350. First, I removed the upholstered panel with the big pocket by prying off the upholstered buttons with a flat screwdriver which revealed Phillips head screws inside of what look like snaps. I removed all of the screws and the upholstered panel with the big pocket came off. Then I had to remove a half a dozen more screws that held on a piece of plywood. Then I could see the cables that connect the handle to the latch. There was play in the cable. I tightened the cable by drilling a hole in the door just below the window near the Pull Handle (not the handle that operates the latch--the one you use to pull the door closed from the inside.) I took a piece of coat hanger wire and wrapped it around the cable that goes from the door handle to the latch. I ran the other end of the coat hanger wire through the hole I drilled and then pulled it tight and wrapped it around the aforementioned pull handle. I know that's not the way you're supposed to fix it but it works fine and it didn't cost a penny.
