There is a special socket that you can get at most auto parts stores with an open side to get around the wiring. There is one sensor in the tailpipe before the catalytic coverter and one after. Use the socket to unscrew the sensors, and unplug the wires at the connector.

If it is, it would come down to whether the mechanic was careless or there was something wrong with the lug.

The 2003 Ford Escape takes 19" wiper blades on both sides front and a fairly specialized 10" rear wiper that is difficult to find in the stores. Since there are currently over 22 different wiper arm attachments, do not buy wipers just by length only - be sure to lookup exact wiper blade part numbers by vehicle make, model and year for the brand wiper you decide to purchase. This ensures correct length AND correct attachment.

I had the same problem with my 2002 Escape XLT. Another website suggested (and it worked for me) to check the coolant overflow reservoir. Apparently the signal for "low coolant" shows up as "check battery".

I believe it is on the back of the header/manifold. There are two of them on some Escapes.

i recommend checking your wires going to all your lights. look for breaks in the wire casing where it may be touching the body or arching. good luck.

On the left side kick panel ( drivers footwell ) remove the panel cover to access the fuses

It sounds like a blown piston ring, you should get it serviced soon.

You must pull the drain plug on the bottom back side of the unit then remove the plastic cover on the left front side of the vehicle then you have access to the pan the one on the side of the unit after removing the pan you now can remove the filter

remove the reflector next to it first and then the light comes out easily. both are held in place with spring clips. the bulb comes out the back. having a vw requires a shop manual. it will pay for itself when you dont have to pay someone to change that bulb for you

start the engine

open the hood and remove the system fuse

the engine will stall, the pressure is now relieved

the fuel filter is in front of the fuel tank, driver side

wear gloves/saftey glasses and have a fire extinguisher available (who knows!) the filter will have 2 hoses attached at either end. white/yellowish clips attach these hoses. feel for the top of the clip and push the 2 ends in and down. you may have to use a screw driver to pry the bottom of the clip as well. pull the bottom of the clip down, it will not come out of the coupling completely. repeat for both lines, pull lines firmly off of filter. unscrew filter from hose clamp. approc 6-10 oz of fuel will spill from lines and filter. you should use a pan. install new filter, in same direction as last. insert new clips into coupling, discard old. clip on "out" side may be reused if an R clip. tighten clamp on filter, attach hoses. push in clips to lock. inspect for leaks, wipe entire area clean of fuel. insert fuse and attempt to start. may take a few cranks to get system started.
