many old cars are very similar, you need to remove the bezel screws first then loosen the three slotted screws on the retaining ring. turn the retaining ring a little to the end of the screw slot so you can remove it. Unplug the three prong plug and remove the light. ( if the retaining ring is old you may have to remove it if it will not turn)

How do you change front brake pads 1995 Ford Falcon?

Raise and support the vehicle on jack stands and remove the front wheels. Place the drip pan under the caliper that is being worked on to catch the brake fluid lost when the calipers are compressed. Turn on the ignition key just enough to unlock the steering wheel without turning on the ignition. Turn the wheel all the way to the left if you are working on the right side and vice versa for the opposite side. Use a 10mm socket and loosen the brake bleeder (this is a screw located at the top back of the caliper). Compress the piston back into the caliper by putting the screwdriver into the slot in the middle of the caliper. Put it between the brake pad backing plate and the rotor, and pry the pad in toward the engine and the piston will slowly compress into its bore. As soon as the piston is all the way in the caliper, tighten the bleeder screw.

Remove the two bolts in the back of the caliper holding it on. Lift the caliper off its mounting bracket and hang it up, or set it on something so that it does not hang by the hose. It can destroy the hose if the caliper hangs. Remove the brake pads from the caliper and discard them. Remove the two rear bolts holding the caliper-mounting bracket. If this is the first time the rotors are being replaced, there will be two spring lock clips on the studs of the spindle holding the rotor on. Use the wire cutter to remove these clips, then discard them. Remove the rotor if it will just pull off. It may stick somewhat, so hit it a little with the hammer and it will break loose.

Install the new rotor and the caliper-mounting bracket. Install the new brake pads onto the bracket and lay the caliper over them. Install the bolts to the caliper and tighten. Do the opposite side in the same manner.

How do you change back brakes on a 98 au falcon?

Admittedly, I have done it, using a brake spreader. Pain in the butt.

I now just leave it up to a mechanic to do it correctly. Fortunately, mine did his apprenticeship at Kloster Fraud on the 98 AU. Now he works elsewhere.

How do you make your 1998 Ford Falcon go faster?

A cheap and effective starting point, is to make your engine breath better , k&n make a very good panel filter which will allow better induction airflow, and will make a noticeable improvement in power after a few hundred k"s

Next would be extractors/headers, you can pick up a set of cheap and nasty's for around $180 fitted, but keep in mind with headers, its a case of you get what you pay for.

next hi flow cat, butted up to a 2 1/2 inch exhaust with one resonator, and a straight through (sports) muffler, on average you can have this fitted for around $500, using red back or lukey, this combo has a tenancy to drone but with the foot into it, will sound quite tuff,

Progressive stall converter, most of the falcons out there are autos, and i also am stuck with one, usually all of us will cop the 3.25 diff ratio in the run of the mill gli, fairmont, whatever, which is quite tall when coupled with the output drive of the old 4 speed slug box, i was very impressed with a stally that jim mock motorsport helped me out with, it is what he calls a progressive stall converter, it has a natural stall rate of around 2500 -2700, but the more powerfull your engine, the higher it will stall,i bought mine for $800, and installed it myself, you also have to run an auto cooler, but my ford now hauls some serious arse boys, and made the difference from a pathetic sluggish 1st gear chirpy, to a 1st gear twined up sideways, punching 2nd sideways, and booting 3rd gear which all equated to a very big smile on my face.

How do you sell your car to wreckers?

Call everyone in your area to get the best price. Also be certain to ask if they pay more if you drive the car in. You must have the vehicle title in your possession when they show up to get the car or if you deliver the car.

The prices around here go from $75 to $250 depending on who you call. So make sure you call everyone in your area.

take all of your possessions out that you want to keep. If you forget something it will probably be too late to get it back as many junkyards crush cars fairly quickly.

Believe me it is very easy to junk out a car as these guys do it everyday and get things going fairly quickly.

Best of luck.

How do you remove EB falcon alternator?

now this is tricky, I'm guessing its a six cylinder? now, there is a 13 mm lock nut on adjuster, crack it and wind it out about a full turn, don't undo all the way as u will strip the adjuster, then get a 15/16 spaner and turn adjuster behind lock nut about half a turn, then finger nip the 13 mm lock nut, repeat procedure until u get belt off, when u go to tighten, keep tension on 13mm nut, and use 15/16 to tighten adjuster, remember to keep tension on 13mm otherwise u will strip it, good luck

How often do injectors in a ford BA falcon need to be replaced?

They only need to be replaced if they cannot be ultrasonically cleaned successfully. Or if they are faulty and don't work at all. The BA Falcon has a self cleaning strategy where the injectors are pulsed quickly to help clean injectors stay clean. Factors affecting fouled injectors include fuel quality, mileage of vehicle (high and low), fuel system servicing and if LPG fitted also.

Where is the ground wire on a 1964 Ford Falcon?

On my 64 falcon ute the ground wire goes from the battery straight to a head bolt on the front left of the engine . The head bolt has a secondary bolt threaded into the top of it . The rest of the car gets its ground from another wire that connects to the starter motor mount and goes straight to the fire wall this is only about 200mm long .

Hope that helps

How do you remove a dash on a Ford Falcon AU?

The process is fairly involved, should take about a day with another person helping. You will need to remove the stereo, centre console, dash facier, instrument cluster... basically all the aniciliaries and steering wheel. Once the dash is bear you will need to remove the mounting bolts (located up top closest to the windsceen under a plastic trim but that clips off, you MUST pull it towards you). There are also two bolts, one on the passenger side and one on the drivers side near the door at the bottom of the dash. Once that is complete you will be able to lever the dash towards you and unclip all the connectors behind it. There should be two main block connectors on the drivers side on the firewall, these will need a socket to undo.
