You do not need to completely remove the door panel, just loosen it enough to remove the triangular cover.
First, remove the screw from the inside bottom of the armrest. Next remove the small cap covering the screw inside the door opener molding and remove that screw. Now, remove the screw on the upper edge of the door panel close to the car frame. This will allow you to gently pull the panel away from the door about an inch.
Use a small screw driver to pop off the triangular cover. There are two snap fittings. Now, carefully undo the bolts holding the mirror assembly to the door. Be careful not to drop the nuts or your sockets into the door cavity!
If the mirror is powered, squeeze the wiring harness connection and unsnap it. The mirror should now be free.
