Most animals do not become fossils because the conditions for fossilization are rare. Fossilization typically occurs when an animal is quickly buried in sediment and undergoes a process called mineralization, where minerals replace the organic material. Many animals decay or are consumed by scavengers before this process can occur. Only a small fraction of all organisms that have lived on Earth are preserved as fossils.

There are many different methods of dating fossils including their geological stratum and carbon dating. Phylogenetic trees are dated by their geological stratum because they have something called the COI gene that shows they have roots from a long time ago.

No fossils of non avian dinosaurs are found in Hawaii. This is because the Hawaiian Islands formed after the K-T extinction event. However, birds are considered dinosaurs, and they are very abundant in Hawaii.

You can tell because if that form of species originated in a certain area and if the fossil is found in a different area or continent you can tell that the species traveled then the land mass or super continent Pangaea separated and that species landed over there

Example: If a species of animal originated in Africa and that specie was found in South America you can tell that that specie during the Pangaea time that species traveled, died, then the continents divided into the different forms to form the new day land form

Quartz is a mineral not a rock. Fossils can be found associated with quartz in sedimentary rock not inside the quartz.

As far as I know (from my experience working in a health food store) is that Kefir is very similar to yogurt, so I am guessing that the nutrients are about the same. Protien, calcium ect. HOWEVER! what makes kefir special is it's abundance of microorganisms or "pro-biotics" as they are called. These include acidophiolis,biffidious (ok I honestly can't spell them) anyway, these are important for your digestive track. basically they get depited, mainly through the use of anti-biotics and poor diet, but these are very important in supporting your immune-system. As I am sure you know a large percentage of our immunological functioning takes place in the digestive system. The probiotics destroy "bad' bactiria, and also eat excess yeast in our systems. Kefir is also really tastey! However, if you belive you may need a probiotic boost. I would suggest taking capsules that contain them, this way the probiotics won't be killes by your stomach acids. Also, if you are lactose intolerant capsules are a good alternative. Of course this information is not intenned to be perscriptive only a personal suggestion, based on my personal, and albeit, limited experience. But as a personal testimony, I saw a marked improvement in my overall health and even lost a few pounds after I started consuming probiotics on a daily basis.

As to why that happened, most probably a massive body from deep space (comet? asteroid?) crashed into Earth and upset the ecological balance so that many types of animals died out.
