I kept a fantail goldfish and a koi together for 1.5 years. They got along fine. It may have been just my fishes' personalities but I never had a problem with those two. They were buddies. When I got them they were both about 1.5 inches long, so they were young. I rescued them from a kindergarten fishbowl.

I don't recommend keeping them together in an aquarium unless you've got lots of room or a large pond. I just donated the koi to the city aquarium because he's over 7 inches long and growing fast. The fantail has grown too, but not as dramatically.

Their are many varieties of goldfish, however goldfish with fat or potbellied stomachs are classified into the "Egg Bodied" goldfish category. Egg Bodied goldfish are their own distinct group of fancy goldfish which all have an unusually large abdomen. Put in in by itself, and if the fins are not to tore up they will grow back, if they are to far gone the fish may get a fungus and die, whatever the fish should be removed from the tank isolated and allowed to heal or die.

A ryukin can grow pretty large in body size. Because of their shape, they tend to grow tallish, and fat. It's not uncommon for them to get to a 10 inch in length including tail fins, but their girth can grow quite massive.

Keep the water at a normal temperature for mollies: 78-82° F. She'll do just fine.

No. Goldfish are freshwater fish. Ocean is saltwater. Take a freshwater fish and put it in a saltwater environment and the higher density of the water will generally crush the internal organs of the fish. There are a few fish who can go into either and a type of water called brackish water where it is a mixture of fresh and salt that hosts different types of fish.

If its a Goldfish, Zebra Danio, cichlid, betta or others like them then yes, but mollies, platys, Guppies, and many others are live bearers and the fry are born free swimming. meaning that A) you can actually see them and they look like fish, and B) they are born able to swim freely.

It is cruel to keep three goldfish in a tiny 1 gallon tank. Turning on an air pump will only result in the fish suffering for longer before they die. Goldfish grow to around 10 inches long so 1 goldfish needs a minimum of 10 gallons. There are basic rules all successfull fish keepers use. The first is "1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water" the next is "all water containing aquatic life must have a constantly running cycled filter." and the last of the three main rules but not the least is " All occupied fish tanks need to have at least 50% of their water changed weekly." If you observe and follow those basic rules you will have happy and healthy fish. Failure to keep any one of them will eventually result in problems and dead fish.

Not necessarily - if you completely remove all the water, you could lose most of your beneficial bacteria that helped to establish your tank when it cycled. If your fish died from something parasitic, then yes, you need to clean absolutely everything. If it died due to a water quality issue, then no.
