Great White Sharks

There is information that a Bull Shark was captured in the Missouri River near Saint Louis many years ago, but no recent information that there currently are Bull Sharks in the Missouri River.

NONE, there have been no sharks in any of the great lakes. That's because there has to be a river attached to an ocean, and there are no salt water rivers attached to the great lakes. But Bull sharks have been known to go into fresh water to have their babies so watch out if you are in the Mississippi River because they have been found there, and they are the MOST dangerouse shark in the world!

Yes the waters surrounding crete are home to sharks, including the Great White Shark. This is not to say the waters are dangerous, remember soda vending machines have killed more people than sharks. SHARKS ARE HARDLY DANGEROUS.

You could find bull sharks which are known to be quite aggressive but should leave you alone if you leave them alone many people swim with sharks every day in places like Hawaii surfing and they are fine. But still be careful they can be dangerous!

There are requiem sharks that inhabit brackish and freshwater rivers. These sharks have, thus far, only been found in rivers in South and Southeast Asia and Australia. The only other shark known to be found in rivers is the Bull Shark which has the ability to inhabit both saltwater and freshwater.

1979 was the last year that Lake Michigan froze over. Usually, ice only covers about 50% of the lake during the peak time in February.

Actually, the lake did not completely freeze over in 1979 but it came pretty close. Also pretty close in 1977 and 1994

There have been some reports of bull sharks making it as far as lake Michigan but these are believed to be hoaxes. Some sharks like the bull can endure fresh water but not for the long periods needed to make it to lake Erie and Michigan. As a diver with over 600 hours in all the great lakes I have yet to see or hear of any evidence to corroborate any of these stories.

Probably not. The temperature range of the bull shark is pretty high, and the claims of sharks are unsubstantiated and even occasionally fabricated. If a bull shark happened to enter the Great Lakes, the cold water would probably kill it within a while after entering the lake.

It is possible for Bull Sharks to live in Lake Erie. They have been found in Lake Erie, Lake Michigan, and the Mississippi River. because they can control the amount of salt water they need through their gills but they need some salt water.no there isn't never a report in ohio 'pa or ny. and Canadian dept. of conservation.i guess you saw one jump Niagara falls you putz.st lawernce river is too much current to get to lake Ontario and then some how make it thru welland canal they would die from too much fresh water for a trip that far.the lakes are not brackish water like the missippi river. they can not live more than 3 days without brackish water.where do you idiots get this stuff I'm sure it was a 6ft. sturgeon that has a dorsal fin that looks sharkish they will come into the shallows chasing spawning suckers I saw this with U.S.fish and game wardens as I took them out on the river

yes they are called moon sharks the are like hammerhead sharks bigger they wont do much to you they will probably just give you a bite and leave you with life threatening damage ARE YOU CLEAR NOW . GOT IT.

Yes there are sharks in Jamaica but nothing too scary, the main sharks will be reef sharks bith black and white tip. You may get the rare tiger or bull shark but they are few and far between. I've been scuba diving in Jamaica, but have yet to see a shark.

The Great white shark is found in almost every sea in the world, including Cozumel. You should note however, that the last attack occurred in 1997 (almost 20 years ago), in the Santa Rosa Shallows in Cozumel.

To the best of my knowledge, there are currently no sharks in the Great Lakes.

In theory, some species of sharks, such as the bull shark, could thrive in the Great Lakes, but their introduction is unlikely with the series of locks and dams in place.

Bull sharks can make it all the way up to the great lakes but they are only looking for food and there currently is an abundance of Asian carp which should keep them in the rivers.

However, the Great Lakes are very cold and it is unlikely that Bull sharks can survive in there for too long, in addition to them not bring truly a freshwater shark species.

They are caught daily by the local fishermen.
