John Kiffmeyer was Green Day's formal drummer, you might also know him as Al Sobrante.
Mike and Billie were friends for a long time before they met Tre'. When they were Sweet Children, their drummer quit on them and they met Tre. Then they changed the name of the band to Green Day.
Yes, they do Marijuana quite a bit. In their younger days, he used to do speed.
Well, Green Day originally started out as Sweet Children, with Billie Joe (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Mike Dirnt (Bass/Backing Vocals), and John Kiffmeyer (Drums). So their first song was "Sweet Children"... In 1990, they changed their name from "Sweet Children" to "Green Day". Green Day's first song was 1,000 Hours, on the 1,000 Hours LP.

Those are just a few examples, and really about half their songs don't contain any swearing, anyway.
Well he speaks English (of course) and i believe he can speak French as well and he would like to be fluent in Spanish. :)
I think Billie Joe only speaks English. I read somewhere that he would like to learn Spanish, though.
Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Al Sobrante (aka John Kiffmeyer) happened to be watching an episode of Sesame Street, where the character Oscar the Grouch happened to exclaim, "I'm having such a green day!" In his case, it only mean spending the whole day lazing around at home, but the actual meaning included smoking weed. Since Sweet Children were avid pot-fans, that sentence by Oscar influenced them to change Sweet Children's name to Green Day. Also, there was another band floating around called 'Sweet Baby' and Larry Livermore, Lookout! Records' owner didn't want any confusions.
it means "liking what's important to you, not caring about what other people think about it or you. Not wanting or caring about other's imput. Being different because that's what you like and not caring about what other people think"
The oldest member in Green Day is Billie Joe Armstrong (February 17, 1972) aged 37
The middle aged member of Green Day is Mike Dirnt, (May 4, 1972) aged 37
The Youngest member in Green Day is Tre Cool, (December 9, 1972) aged 37
A fork stuck in the road - metaphor for making a life-changing decision.
Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go - personification of time as a guiding force showing you the way, or possibly reconciling you to your decision.
Photographs on a shelf - memories, keeping a piece of someone you love with you forever.
Tattoos - again, memories. Indelibility = never forgetting.
The whole song is a metaphor for taking a difficult decision and knowing that even if it hurts in the short term, eventually you will know that you have made the right choice.
By saying "21st Century Breakdown", you could mean the album or the actual song on the album.
The album "21st Century Breakdown" tells the story of Christian and Gloria, who live in these troubled times during the 21st Century in America. The character Christian goes through some rough patches in his life and somewhat breaks down, hence the song "Christian's Inferno". Gloria, on the other hand, is the one trying to make sense of everything and pull everything together. She is the force that tries to push the world to be a better place and is called the "Last of the American Girls". In the end, both Christian and Gloria have overcome hardships and just want to be free and "See the Light".
The actual song "21st Century Breakdown" somewhat reflects the life of Green Day's lead singer and guitarist, Billie Joe Armstrong. He begins with "Born into Nixon I was raised in hell" and later sings "my town was blind from refinery sun". This reflects his early life: a childhood beginning in 1972 spent in the refinery town of Rodeo, CA. The rest of the song continues to reflect his life, but also has a universal message that exclaims that the 21st Century is not all perfect.
They were all born in 1972.
Billie Joe Armstrong - born February 17, 1972 (age 45) - vocals and guitar
Mike Dirnt - born May 4, 1972 (age 45) - bass guitar and vocals
Tré Cool (Frank Wright III) - born December 9, 1972 (age 45) - drummer and percussion

In the album "American Idiot" (2004) theres a song called "She's a Reble" and in the song theres a lyric that goes "... and she's holding on my HEART like a HANDGRENADE." So, thus, the symbol is a heart handgrenade!
A 21 Gun salute is a military symbol for the end.
This song is not about war and how people are losing their lives, but by doing something that is not worth fighting for. It is about thinking if you are doing what is right for you and for the you're around with.
