"Abatement of rent" generally means that for a period of time rent is not payable. How do you make a solar panel?
- One electric stove or hotplate (at least 1100 watts)
- Sheet metal shears
- One micro-ammeter (able to read currents between 10 and 50 microamperes)
- Tap water
- One 2 liter plastic bottle or glass
- Safety goggles
- Two to three tbsps. of table salt
- 1/2 -foot square sheet of copper flashing
- Electric drill with sand paper
- Two alligator clip leads
Use sheet metal shears to cut the copper flashing in a square or rectangle to fit the size of the electric burner. Be sure to use a piece of copper flashing that is thoroughly cleaned. You may use sandpaper to thoroughly remove any sign of corrosion before proceeding.

Place the copper flashing on the electric burner and turn the burner on. You will need to "cook" the flashing for as long as 30 minutes or more to develop a thick layer of black cupric oxide.

Allow the copper to cool slowly once the layer of cupric oxide has formed. It will begin to flake off and may do so with some force as the oxide and the copper cool at different rates.

Scrub the completely cooled copper under running water to remove any last remaining bits of oxide. Be gentle, as you do not want to remove any of the red cuprous oxide that has been created in heating the flashing.

Cut another piece of copper to the same size. Attach both panels using the alligator clips to the inside of the wide-mouth glass jar or plastic bottle with the top cut off. The panels should not touch and should bend to match the curves of the jar or bottle.

Connect the lead of the alligator clip which fastens the clean copper plate to the positive terminal of the meter. The negative terminal should then be connected to the cuprous oxide plate.

Make a solution of salt and water by dissolving the salt in hot tap water. You should make enough solution to barely cover the bottom of the plates, leaving the clips high and dry.

Solar power is great overall, but some disadvantages are that solar panels, installation, and repairs are VERY expensive. Also, the weather can effect the efficiency of the solar panels. Solar panels can only process energy throughout the day, even though it usually has enough power saved up to run everything all through the night, which is another disadvantage. And pollution levels can also effect the solar panels efficiency.

Agriculture isn't really a resource, it's a practice. However, agriculture can deplete resources. Modern practices deplete soil by destroying forests and other natural habitats which have held soil structure together with their roots, and drawn up moisture and nutrients from deep underground, the deep ploughing, sowing of monocultures, sowing of plants that are not suitable for the region, and use of chemicals as fertilisers and pest/herbicides have all helped to deplete not only the amount of top soil, bt the quality of the top soil too. Modern agriculture also likes to irrigate, often in wasteful ways, this is leading to a very serious drop in available fresh water - this is quite noticable in parts of the U.S. for example. The use of a limited range of plant species has led to the threatening of the biodiversity of crop plants - this has been further threatened in Europe by a law controlling seeds - in our changing climate this means we may lose the genetic diversity to develop crops capable of surving our brave new world. Monocultures of crops also threaten the insect population(pollinators among them).
However, there are ways to farm that can be positive. I direct you to research agroforestry, permaculture, key line ploughing (not only uses water effectively, but increases the top soil), biochar, wild flower strips (encourage insects) and companion planting (uses properties of some plants to protect others), mycorrhiza (fungi) and Holistic Management (HMI) - this list should lead you to a whole host of ideas and methods that use agriculture to improve the world, not deplete it.
