you need to feed them fresh pellets and if the only thing that is fresh is the guinea pig food then its ok cause i fee my gerbil hamster food and shes fine yeah i got two guinea pigs last week, i have a shelter type thing in my cage. Mine never come out either so what i do is i take mine out during the day and replace it at night, it also get them to sleep at night, Hope this helped nope. well, it just means that he doesn't really know you. try feeding him fruits and vegies by hand, and once he's comfortable with that, try taking him out for a few minutes a day. soon he'll be used to you and will squeak wenever you come into th room. hopw tis helped! :D I have a guinea pig too. No,NEVER,EVER give a guinea pig hamster food.Hamster food contains nuts,which are fine for the hamster but will almost certainly choke your guinea pig.Also hamster food contains corn which is way too fattening for guinea pigs. And lastly a guinea pig needs a lot of vitamin C which guinea pig food has plenty of while hamster food doesn't have nearly enough,plus hamster food has too much protein for guinea pigs.
