To download torrent files (.torrent) from any website you first need a program that will let you download those files in that format. A very reliable torrent downloading software is Utorrent, which can be downloaded for free from:

Every hard disk has a different amount of GB for storage space. It depends on how many you want. They range from 4G (very old drive) to 4TB (4000G) but you have a picture of a SSD here and they are not that big yet.

That really depends on what you expect to do. If you only need to run office applications, chat and send email and save a few thousand pictures you will probably do really well with 500GB. If you need to back up other systems on your network or get into serious video editing, you will run out of space fairly quickly.

intially when we install operating system , we are suppose to select the drive where we want to install operating system, by this first of all the drive would be completed formatted and operating system install in it , so completely in our hand to select the drive to insall operating system and c drives always comes as default option to install operating system , which we can change to other drive.....if you hav any other question email me at abdul_island@yahoo.com

Yes, Surely it will remove everything on hard drive. Formatting a hard drive means to remove everything on hard drive. If you are formatting only a specific drive like C:\ or D:\ then the data in only that drive will be removed.

you don't need a hard drive to run an operating system or store files because there are other storage options available like CD's, flash drives, solid state drives but you need an operting system to make a computer function so if the operating system is on the hard drive you would need the hard drive for the computer to function with your personal settings, files and operating system.

This is inaccurate. An external (USB) hard drive can replace an internal drive providing that the operating system is located on the external drive AND the BIOS boot sequence is set to allow booting from a USB device as the first boot device.

It is using the EIDE connection. The book says that if you have a hard drive and a CD that the hard drive should be the master and the CD will be the slave.

when you open your computer you will see that their are about 4-5 diffrent colored cables connected in one spot. then their will be a ribbon cable connected to the left of it. On most computers you will see that the hard drive is located by the CD and DVD drive. After you locate it you will unplug them. it will require some force to take them out. Then if you look to the right side of the drive you will see that it is screwed in so you need to unscrew them. check the left side for screws to and then after that your done. I suppose by flash drive you are referring to a USB stick. My answer is "yes and no". It depends on the program so to speak. You would probably have a hard time running a complete office install from a stick. I hesitate to discount it completely, because I have never tried. A single executable file can easily be stored on a stick and executed from the stick. You can even have a program auto-execute when you insert the stick into your computer. I believe there have been security issues in this regard on certain operating systems, and you will probably have to enable this feature in your operating system.

The price point for hard drives has fallen drastically over the last several years. The break point now happens between 2 TB and 3 TB. A 2 TB drive runs around $95 while a 3 TB drive runs about $120. By comparison, a 1 TB drive will cost around $80. This makes the 2 TB the best deal for your bucks.

Ideally if you don't already know, you shouldn't be doing it. Especially if you don't know about anti-static precautions. For a desktop: Ground yourself against a radiator or any earthed metal (just hold it for a few seconds) to remove any static charge you may be carrying. Unplug the power supply, open the case of the PC (may require removal of screws or undoing clips depending on the model of PC). Find the hard drive which needs replacing, it should look pretty much same as the one you have to replace it with. If there is more than one hard drive present, then you'll have to check which one needs removing before continuing. Unplug the power connector and the data cable from the back of the old hard drive. Remove the hard drive (if in a caddy you will need to swap the caddy over, which may require removal of some screws as well). Put the new hard drive in (also using the caddy if one was present). Plug the 2 cables back into the hard drive. Put the case back on. Job done!
