Look for the largest TV you can afford. Stay away from plasma and non-LED backlit screens, and choose a brand name with a good reputation and local support. Make sure you can view the TV in person. You might be able to bring along a DVD or Blu-Ray disc to compare the pictures with a movie you know and like.

A Bluray disc can store up to 50GB of data (the maximum storage size is not specified in the standard so data capacity may be higher in some discs.

A CD will store approximately 700MB of data, about seventy minutes of stereo music in CD format.

You can't play the Sony TV's sound through this system, as the TZ210 doesn't have any video or audio inputs. This system can only be used to play DVDs and the radio tuner built into the TZ210.

Both have their own benefits and drawbacks. The most important thing is that you find a television comfortable, easy and realistic to watch. If you enjoy watching 3D on a certain model, the technology used is of little importance.

If your receiver has an HDMI input, use that. If it doesn't, then you will have to use analog or digital audio connectors to plug it in.

If the connector is swapped twice each day, the life of the connector should last for anything up to ten years. It is very likely that the conductors inside the cable will fail due to bending far sooner than the connector itself will wear out.

The input connector will be yellow, normally with a white and red next to it. If you can see the color of the connector, plug in the video (yellow) and audio (red and white) cables and try it.

If you can't see even the color of the connectors, try using a phone's camera. Either use the screen as a live viewfinder or reach behind the television and take pictures until you can work out where the cables go. Take a final picture to confirm that you got the right connectors in the right holes.

If you want an audio output from the TV to connect to a home theater receiver or other amplifier, you will have to use the optical digital audio output or Audio Return Channel through the HDMI connectors. Those are the only outputs on this TV.

Regions are global areas defined by the BluRay consortium. In order the allow the introduction of movies in different countries on different dates, most Bluray movies have a region code embedded in them. Bluray players will only play movies authored for the region in which they are sold. There are movies on the market, however, that are region-free, and can be played on any Bluray player anywhere in the world.

DVI is a digital video interface used for computer displays. It is an alternative to VGA which is an anlog interface.

DVI is also compatible with HDMI interfaces with one or two limitaitons. DVI does not carry audio so a separate audio lead will be needed. Also. HDMI supports a content protection system called HDCP. Therefore, HDCP protected signals on an HDMI output, as may be found on Bluray discs among others, may well not operate with a DVI input.

This is an argument that continues to battle on and on. Basically, Samsung is active shutter technology and each eye receives a 1080p image at a time. Meanwhile, LG developed a passive technology 3D TV where both eyes receive 540p image at the same time. Samsung does have impeccable quality, though, so make sure to research it all the way. Early TV was mechanical, using a spinning disk to scan the image. A 30-line scan was common, but there were few standards.

Modern TV is electronic. A 405, 525, 625 or 800 line standard has been common.

Antennas transfer energy from a cable into the airwaves efficiently. Any transmit antenna can also be a receive antenna and viceversa. If you wish to transmit high power from an antenna, usually heat generation or high voltage is a concern that can destroy the antenna. To prevent problems, high power antennas require thicker wires and sometimes insulators to prevent overheating/burning and arcing. Many antennas can simply be made of wire of a simple length and they'll be very efficient. The length of an antenna changes it's efficiency to the cable. If you want the antenna to be efficient, you must size it to match the cable impedance. Usually the length of a single wire exiting above a metal plate is one quarter wavelength or 1/4 x 11,803/frequency in megahertz. For FM radio on an automobile, some antennas have motors that extend out of the body of the car. The height (inches) should be 1/4 x 11,803/100 megahertz or just under 30 inches. TV antennas above a house are most often a set of half wavelength wires, so change the 1/4 to 1/2 in the formula above. They use many different wire lengths to cover all the frequencies in the television band, which extends from about 50 megahertz to around 600 megahertz. Cell phone frequencies were picked partly to make the antennas small and partly so that cell phone reception can enter buildings with rebar reinforcement. Cell phone frequencies are roughly 800 megahertz and 1800 megahertz.

Receiver antennas are often made smaller than either transmit or transceiver antennas. If you open up the back of an older transistor radio, you are likely to find a bar made of ferrite material with an insulator and wire wrapped around that. You divide the outcome by 2 to find out what each side length should be. The impedance of an antenna can ofter be adjusted by its shape. The 90 degree V shape yields a near perfect 50 ohms impedance which is commonly used for transmitters and transceivers where as the flat top diode has a higher impedance.
