How is afterlife different from heaven and hell?
Reincarnation is the belief that after death our soul enters, or we are reborn as another living thing, IE. a blade of grass or an animal. Some religions that believe this don't eat animals for this reason. Afterlife is the belief that after death we go to live in another place. The most common afterlife belief is the Christian doctrine of heaven.
Can you go to hell for being gay?
Well, It depends on if you believe the Bible pretty much. I am a Diest, which I believe that God created the world, but doesn't interfere anymore. So I don't believe that me being gay will cause me to burn in the firey pit of Hell ;). So if you're gay, don't worry about it. Now if you are a devout something, it may say that it is "wrong". Most gays cannot help being attracted to guys. I never made a choice, so how can I be punished for a sin when I never made a concious decision? So you are good here.
thank u i am gay and i assur u u wiull not go to hell the devil is not that mean.
The only Scripture that comes close to saying, "go to heaven," is from the deepest heartfelt thought of SATAN THE DEVIL:
"How thou art fallen FROM HEAVEN, O LUCIFER... For THOU HAST SAID IN THINE HEART, 'I WILL ASCEND INTO HEAVEN...' [I WILL GO TO HEAVEN]" (Isa.14:12-13).
Nowhere in the Bible does God permit or promise man... ANY MAN... that he will go to heaven [that is, the "3rd heaven" where His throne is. The first two heavens of which the Bible speaks; man has gone and often repeatedly: the first one within the earth's breathable atmosphere where birds fly and clouds form, man goes to daily. Visit any airport around the world and watch him go. The second heaven, where the stars and planets reside in vacuous "outer space," man has gone also... but with great deliberation and difficulty].
It's SATAN who desires to go to the third heaven of God's throne -- because he wants to BE GOD:
"...'I WILL EXALT MY THRONE ABOVE THE STARS [angels - see Rev.1:20] OF GOD...'" (Isa.14:13).
But since man began to worship and obey "that old Serpent, called the Devil, and Satan" [Rev.12:9] from the beginning... it naturally followed that all of the succeeding "false religions" in the world that he foisted upon deceived mankind would include GOING TO HEAVEN.
Certainly, Muslims believe that only Muslims "go to heaven"... while all other people go to "the other place" [or whatever places their ministers, priests, imams, or whatever relegate anyone who doesn't believe their way].
As for those who profess the so-called "Christian" religion... the Bible reveals that they shall inherit whatever it was that God promised to ABRAHAM!
...IF YE BE CHRIST'S, then YE ARE ABRAHAM'S SEED, and HEIRS ACCORDING TO THE PROMISE." (Gal.3:29)
So the question is: WHAT DID GOD PROMISE ABRAHAM? HEAVEN?
NO! God promised Abraham "LAND!" Not heaven! The Promised LAND! God promised Abraham THE EARTH!
"For THE PROMISE, THAT HE SHOULD BE THE HEIR OF THE WORLD, was not to Abraham, OR TO HIS SEED, through the Law, but THROUGH THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF FAITH." (Rom.4:13)
The Bible promises NO ONE heaven... regardless of whatever false religion they happen to believe. It promises the "Righteous Faithful" of God THE EARTH:
God... "...hast made US unto our God Kings and Priests: and WE SHALL REIGN ON THE EARTH." (Rev.5:10)
No one knows what heaven is made of. It doesn't say in the Bible. But we do know that heaven is not a physical place in our universe that we can reach. The only way to get to heaven is by believing that you are a sinful being and Jesus Christ died for your sins and the cross and rose again on the third day.

One view:
There is no such thing as hell with eternal burning fires as what was written in the scriptures. Remember the scriptures, even if it was inspired by God, remember that is was written by man and man has his own ego which makes the infusion of his own beliefs and ideas possible to mix with the pure messages of God so we cannot always rely on the scriptures for purity. Another thing to note is that most of the accounts in the scriptures particularly the Bible some of them are symbolical and not literal. One thing I must say of what is correct about this question is "Hell is what you make it." Hell is not made by a angry God for God is not wrathful.
Another view:
The Bible tells us that heaven and hell are very real, actual places where the soul goes after the death of our human bodies. It is a very basic scientific fact that energy cannot be destroyed, only changed. We are energy, when our bodies die, that energy has to go somewhere. God tells us where, either heaven or hell. Those are our only choices. It is also true that the bible has withstood the test of time and science, proving itself to be a reliable source of historical events and real historical people, Jesus of Nazareth being one of them.
That being said, from scripture and other historical documents the real place of hell is most likely underneath the earth's surface. The abyss, the eternal lake of fire, etc. is the perfect description of the burning center of the core of the earth. It is where Jesus went after his death and before he resurrected. He descended into Hades, to release the saints to heaven and to preach to others, I can only guess these were sinners that still had a chance of redemption.
Another view:
Hell is spoken of in at least two senses. One is the temporary abode in the spirit world of those who were disobedient in this mortal life. It is between death and the resurrection, and persons who receive the lowest degree of glory will abide there until the last resurrection. Hell, as thus defined, will have an end, when all the captive spirits have paid the price of their sins and enter into a degree of glory after their resurrection. Statements about an everlasting hell must be interpreted in their proper context in the light of that which defines eternal and endless punishment.
On the other hand, the devil and his angels, including the sons of perdition, are assigned to a place spoken of as a lake of fire-a figure of eternal anguish. This condition is sometimes called hell in the scriptures (2 Pet. 2:4. This kind of hell, which is after the resurrection and judgment, is exclusively for the devil and his angels, and is not the same as that consisting only of the period between death and resurrection. The one group are redeemed from hell and inherit some degree of glory. The other receive no glory. They continue in spiritual darkness. For them the conditions of hell remain, that of the absence of God, Christ and The Holy Spirit.
What are the names of the four crowned princes of hell?
According to the Satanic Bible (by Anton LeVey) the crowned princes of hell are Satan, Lucifer, Belial and Leviathan.
If you go to hell how long will you be there?
As "hell" is considered part of some religious beliefs, there is no right or wrong answer to this question in the literal sense. Religiously, some believe that "hell" is a place of eternal damnation or torture. If you firmly believe in hell as a physical location that those who die may go to, burning in it might be a possible effect. However, sense there is no way to currently prove hell (or heaven for that matter) exists, there is no correct answer someone may be able to give you.
.
Catholic AnswerYes, of course, hell is eternal separation from God, at present there is no one in hell who has a body, they are all spirits, so it is not really a place so much as a state. The two punishments of hell are 1) the pain of loss, which consists in the deprivation of the vision of God, and the pain of sense, which consists in the suffering caused by outside material things. As human beings feel pain in their souls - through their sense organs, in hell, the pain is immediate to the soul not having to go through the sense organs. But at the end of the world, everyone will get their bodies back, and at that point, your senses will suffer pain as well, which as been described as burning, eternal burning, which does not destroy and consume your body, but only gives the pain - for eternity. Can a gay or lesbian go to heaven?
Someone can accept Christ, not change his lifestyle, and still go to heaven. The Bible teaches that if someone has truly accepted Christ into his life, nothing can keep him out of heaven. John 10:28
There is only one sin that is unforgivable.. That is the sin of not believing and not receiving Jesus Christ into your life. A gay or homosexual person CAN accept Christ, just as an alcoholic, a drug addict, or a mass murderer can accept Christ.
God made everybody a certain way for a reason. Why would he make you this way if you weren't allowed in heaven. If you change to be gay or lesbian for somebody then that is a different story because you change how you were born. Anyway if you follow god's rules then you should be set because there is a lot more people who do bad things and your not doing anything bad.
A Catholic Answer (Catholics in union with the Pope)
Gays and lesbians are just like straight people -- we are all fallen human beings. There are straight people with brutal tempers who sin against charity and justice habitually. There are straight people who are congenital liars and would sell their own grandmother to make an extra penny. There are straight people who are cowards and refuse to face up to their responsibilities. God made us all; He loves us all; yet we are all fallen; all have fallen short, some in one way; some in others. Some of us don't even realize how short we've fallen. Whatever tendencies we may have that may cause us to offend God - whether temper, greed, or lust -, we must strive to overcome these, with God's help, and live lives of holiness.
Persons -straight - who have fallen, and who repent will be welcomed into Heaven.
Gay answer. Yes lesbians and gay men go to heaven, its a Night club in London. If we are talking about the spiritual place then most definately, who else but gay men will make it fasionable and keep it clean?
When you die who decides wheather you go to heaven or hell?
by the acts you do. A lot of people misunderstand the word of God, I believe it is best not to believe what others say unless they can show you where they got their info. So you need to read for yourself. I learned that hadies is just the judgement plate where you go to be judged for your acts on earth. That after you die you are in limbo on earth until God calls for his people. Read the book of Revelation's. But be careful, it is symbolic in allot of ways. Research it not just in the bible but on-line and at the library and NEVER listen to someone who wants to tell you only one verse and give you what they think it means. The bible explains it self if you read it and allot of it's history has even been proven. Like for example, research on line about Noah's ark. Did you know that it has been found? The tribe that lives at the base of the mountain forbid it to be removed because it goes against their own religion. I do believe there is a higher power and there are many scriptures in the bible saying one day all our tears will be wiped away and there will be no more suffering. Please, just a little each day, just read for yourself. The book of genesis is the most boring but it even speaks of dinosaurs in it. You just have to get past all of the this man was the father of who was the father of who was the father stuff. Good luck...God bless READ King James version of the bible, it is the closest to the original you can get.
i'm sorry about that answer, god is with you and even the person who made that awful comment, but yeah, i was wondering the same thing myself, i hope we both find the answer :)
Can you view hell from heaven?
This is not a common belief in historical Christianity, but there are passages that suggest it may be possible. Isaiah 66:22 speaks of "the new heavens and the new earth" that God will make, then He says in verse 24, "And they shall go out and look on the dead bodies of the men who have rebelled against me. For their worm shall not die, their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be an abhorrence to all flesh."
In Luke 16:19-31, the parable of the rich man and Lazarus seems to indicate this is possible as well. Verses 22-23 say, "The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried, and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side." Abraham is able to see and speak with the rich man, and says to the rich man, "And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.'" This occurred before the creation of the new earth (final heaven/hell), but could apply to this question.
Some have suggested that everyone will be together, but some will just have a bad experience (hell) and for some it will be great (heaven). This is clearly not biblical as there are many verses that make the division between the two very clear. 2 Thessalonians 1:9 is just one example: "They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might". Also see Revelation 20-21.
Is there such a thing as heaven or hell?
well there may not be physical evidence, but many people that have been very close to dying have pretty similar memories. most say that they saw themselves below as they had this out-of-body experience. most people say they saw some flowers and other beautiful things and a tunnel with a bright light at the end. these people usually say that they didnt want to leave their family, so they fought hard to get back to their body. some people believe these other people, but others dont. it really just depends on how you feel about heaven and hell yourself whether or not you believe them.
There is much scientific evidence to back up the existence of Heaven and Hell. Quantum mechanics reveals a phenomenon called quantum non-locality which is a situation at the sub atomic level where the laws of physics as we know them, do not apply. This, by definition, is what we call the SUPERNATURAL. The Bible tells us that, all around us, unseen to us, angels are battling demons on our behalf. This sounds an awful lot like alternate dimensions to me. Lazarus and the rich man were able to see each other but were unable to touch. This sounds like the partial opening of a gateway between dimensions. Quantum non-locality states that particles can communicate without using time and space. God sees everything past, present, and future. In non-linear time, all things are actually happening at the same time. Time travel is possible by using doorways between dimensions to cover vast amounts of space. The problem is that travel between dimensions requires vast amounts of energy which thus far, are only conceivable by supernatural means. The only way to cross over to the other side is by dying. Our soul is able to travel but leaves our body behind. Basically, we all will live forever, but we have our present lifetime in which to learn about the options and to choose where we want to spend eternity. Good luck in your choices.
What religions do not believe in a hell?
ANSWER I will start this discussion by mentioning that Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe in a burning hell. I emphasize the word burning because we believe in what the Bible calls, hell, sheol, or hades. We accept the explanation the Bible gives for hell, not the common one found in many religions. One such scripture is at Ecclesiastes 9:5,10, where it says, "For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten...All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in She´ol, the place to which you are going." Sheol is a place of inactivity, it is the common grave of mankind, not a place of torment according to the Bible. ANSWER All the Eastern Religions line up with the Jehovah's Witnesses and also do not teach there is a hell as the Bible teaches. CLARIFICATION The English word hell is translated from the Hebrew word Sheol and the Greek work Hades. JW's accept what the Bible says about Sheol and Hades, which does not always agree with what Christendom teaches about hell, so if there is dissagreement about hell between the Bible and what s popular, JW's accept what the Bible says. Here is a web address to what JW's believe about the subject: http://www.watchtower.org/e/20020715/article_02.htm
Do you go to Heaven or hell as soon as you die?
It all depends on whether you believe in God as your Savior or not.
If you believe that God sent his One and only Son, Jesus Christ to die for all of our sins on the cross and proclaim He is the Son of God then you will go to Heaven.
If you are one of these and you want to become a Christian and ask God for forgiveness of your sins and ask Him to be your Savior and ask Him to come into your heart then you will go to Heaven.
If you need more help you should try visiting a local Christian church or just pray to God. He will hear you wherever you are.
I think this is partly right and partly wrong.
God says that the person who sins will die.
Satan says that the person who sins will not die.
All have sinned therefore all will die.
No man has ascended into heaven, only Christ.
A 'soul' is a combination of body and spirit
Minus the spirit, which goes back to God at death, the body dies
Humans are not immortal. The 'soul' that sinneth shall die. The soul is the person.
At the resurrection, those who believe what Christ has said, i.e., believe in Him, will be resurrected to eternal life.
After 1000 years, the remainder will be resurrected to judgement
No one is judged immediately at death. But will be judged at resurrection
'Hell' is a combination of words in Hebrew and Greek. Sheol, and hades, and lastly Gehenna, which is a real place in Israel, is a place where they used to burn rubbish and throw the bodies of criminals. Eternal worms....NO But a fire that consumes...Yes
O, and I forgot to say, Sheol and Hades, both mean the same thing...'the grave'.
Good question.. I'm going to give you some think and study questions: What is "heaven" and what is the "kingdom" as in the teachings of Yeshua? My personal perception is that there is a difference between the pearly gates place and the kingdom that Yeshua taught about. Do a Bible Study on it, check out crosswalk.com for that. If you check out the teachings of Yeshua (Jesus is a Greek name, if you were hanging out with the Jewish Rabbi that was the historical basis for Christianity and said "Hey Jesus, wassup?", he'd have kept walking.) he speaks of the "kingdom" in present tense. I think that's important. Also if you do a study of Judaism and how it changed during the Babylonian exile you'll find that the meaning of several key concepts changed, "heaven" was just one of them.
Has anyone been to hell before?
According to Our Blessed Savior, quite a few people are in hell, and a huge number of angels. Theologians think as many as a third of the angels refused to serve God in heaven. However, hell is a place of no return, no one goes there and comes back, when a person ends up in hell, they are there for eternity. There have been several reported apparitions of people who are in hell and have appeared to people through the agency of the Almighty, but only to tell people of what their end is if they continue as they are.
What is the name of the place between Heaven and hell?
Most likely Earth, however, no one knows where heaven and hell are, so no one can know whats in between them but, In me the hell is in the core and the Heaven is in next of the space so the place between Heaven and hell is the space.
//Catholics believe in Purgatory, a place between Heaven and Hell where a soul 'works' to atone for their live's sins. Family and friends are believed to pray for their loved one's soul while in Purgatory.
There are many religions that have different levels of the afterlife including the ancient Egyptians. Or a limbo-like state before reaching paradise.
Another Answer:
The answer would depend upon which Heaven and what word for hell you are speaking of. Scripurally, there are 3 heavens: the sky where birds fly, etc; Space where planets, etc are; and the very Throne of God:
Deuteronomy 10:14New International Version (NIV)14 To the LORD your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it.
The Scripture uses 4 words for hell: the most common is referring to the grave or pit in the Earth - in the Hebrew it is 'sheol' and the Greek equivalent 'hades.'
The Scripture only 1 time uses the word 'tartaroo or tartarus' which is a special place of restraint for the fallen angels until their final Judgement.
The last term translated as hell (all usually interchangeable in translations which is the cause of the problem) is 'gehenna' which was a burning trash site outside the City of Jerusalem's gate and refers to the Lake of Fire in Revelation.
So the narrowest answer would be between the sky and the hole in the ground or grave. The broadest would be the Throne of God and the planet Earth which has the sky and space known in between.
All other interpretations are just that and not Scriptural.
Are all Catholics going to hell?
No, only when a mortal sin has been committed...
Mortal sin is sin that, unless forgiven, condemns a person to Hell after death. These sins are considered "mortal" because they constitute a rupture in a person's link to God's saving grace: the person's soul becomes "dead", not merely weakened.
Do people go to hell or heaven?
Sadly, yes. If they don't ask Jesus into their heart and don't believe that Jesus will love them no matter what then that is where they're going. :(
Unfortunately, there is a caveat here... As there are multiple religions that banish non-believers to hell, we are, by definition, all doomed to a fiery eternity. Sorry for the bad news, see you guys in a very hot place with people whipping us to high hell!
When did God create Hell for Satan and the fallen angels?
The Bible uses three terms for 'hell' as follows:
Sheol in the Hebrew and Hades in the Greek - means the pit or grave for the dead.
Gehenna is another Greek term - only used 12 times in the Bible with 11 of these included in Christ's words. It simply means a consuming fire. Gehenna "is derived from the Hebr[ew] expression, ga-Hinnom, Valley of Hinnom . . . Religiously it was a place of idolatrous and human sacrifices . . . In order to put an end to these abominations, [Judah's King] Josiah polluted it with human bones and other corruptions (2 Kgs. 23:10, 13, 14)" (Spiros Zodhiates, The Complete Word Study Dictionary: New Testament, 1992, p. 360).
The final term is from the Greek, 'tartaroo' and only used 1 time in Scripture in 2 Peter 2:4. The Expository Dictionary of Bible Words explains that tartaroo means "to confine in Tartaros" and that "Tartaros was the Greek name for the mythological abyss in which rebellious gods were confined" (Lawrence Richards, 1985, "Heaven and Hell"). Peter used this reference to contemporary mythology to show that the sinning angels were "delivered...into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment." These fallen angels are now restrained while awaiting their ultimate judgment for their rebellion against God and destructive influence on humanity. The place where they are restrained is the earth, where they wield influence over the nations, not some dark netherworld. Most importantly, tartaroo applies only to demons.
So given the above, God did not create 'hell' as many have come to think about it. Satan and his demons are confined to the Earth until their judgement.
How can you return to earth after heaven?
You can't, and you will have no wish to. Heaven is the fulfillment of all desire, it is union with God. Once you are in heaven, you are no longer in time, but in eternity. The earth, as we know it, is strictly in time, and will end, and then everyone will either be in heaven or hell. At that point, God will create a new heaven and a new earth, but there is no return to this damaged one.
Do soldiers go to hell for murdering?
Not if the killing is done in a battle or in the line of duty, but they are chargeable if they kill innocent persons who intend them no wrong or if they are on their own time and happen to kill someone in a non related war incident.
Should not Satan like us if you go to hell because you did as he did?
If you are not a believer in Jesus Christ, God's own Son, Satan likes you now. This is because you do his bidding and pay no attention to what God has told you in His book, the Bible.
God has given you a Savior so that you can come back to God and be a friend to God as Adam and Eve were before they fell into sin.
Satan wants you to have a good time on this earth, if you can call lying, cheating, adultery, murder, fornication, being all around mean to people, stealing, cursing, getting drunk, etc. In short SINNING against God.
Satan is as afraid of hell as you are, because he is going to suffer for an eternity along with his brother angels and all the people who do not believe in God or His Son.
Yes following after Satan's ways will insure that you suffer with him in hell.
Catholic AnswerHeaven is, by definition, eternal union with God, to enjoy the Beatific Vision forever. As God is Love, and God cannot change, so heaven is to be bathed in love beyond our imaging. Hell is nothing else but a rejection of God and all that belongs to Him. Thus hell is a complete rejection of love and anything that comes from love. Anyone in hell has rejected God and others, they are completely alone and isolated in their misery and pain. Satan is a creature just like you or me, and he has condemned himself to suffer in hell for all eternity. In other words, Satan is completely devoid of love, liking, or friendship - he is completely wound up in hate and despair and everlasting pain. He will like you in hell only insofar as misery loves company and he has denied another person their eternal reward. When you Overdose and you don't Wake up do you go to Hell?
If you did it on purpose only.
Another Answer:
According to the Bible, all living souls will die which is associated with 'sleep.' The most common term used for 'hell' is the Hebrew 'Sheol' and the Greek 'Hades' which simply means grave or pit. All humans will go to hell in this sense as even Jesus spent 3 full days and nights there in the tomb.
When the dead are called to awaken, they will go to the Judgement process. This will include the vast majority of mankind - less the firstfruits and the incorrigibly unrepentant wicked who will face the 2nd death in the Lake of Fire.
Modern concepts of hell taught by many Churches are more closely associated with Dante's Inferno and is not Scriptural.
