Operation Reinhard (Aktion Reinhard, Einsatz Reinhard, Aktion Reinhardt or Einsatz Reinhardt in German) was the code name given to the Nazi plan to murder Polish Jews in the General Government, and marked the beginning of the most deadly phase of the Holocaust, the use of extermination camps. This was pulled out the day after Krystal Nacht. Afterwards Allianz then profited greatly by buying Jewish property at pennies on the dollar, by denying them coverage just as scores of life insurance policies for Jews went unpaid. Today the company operates under the same principles using deceptive marketing and threats to get American annuity business for which few people will ever break even.

That is a question with many answers: did it start with the idea, or with the plan, or with the order, or did it start with the action. Then which action would you count as being part of the Holocaust and not just part of the increasing persecution, or an attempt to reduce partisan resistance on the front line.

The best answer that i can give is to say the summer of 1941 (though others may say an earlier date, and others a later one).

There is no real way of estimating that. Where the line between war damage and damage due to the Holocaust is would be hard to tell. There have been numerous attempts to estimate how much wealth was stolen in the Holocaust, but there are problems with that also.

The greatest damage was of course the human damage, the six million murder victims and the may hundred thousand survivors many of who never recovered.
