Front brakes on Honda rancher ATV?

First off, you will need a good set of needle nose pliers, wire brush, a good tall can of brake cleaner spray and a small cup for placing small parts into so you don't lose them. Go ahead and loosen the four lug nuts a little and then jack front of the ATV up just high enough for wheel to clear the ground. Finish unscrewing lug nuts off by hand. Remove wheel and tire and set aside and go ahead and place lug nuts in a spot where you know you can find them later. Next you will need those needle nose pliers for pulling the carter pin out of the castle nut that resides in the exact center of the hub in between the four wheel lugs. Straighten this pin and remove and follow up by loosening the castle nut. Set these to the side as well. Next grip wheel hub and wiggle while pulling towards yourself. The hub should come right off. If it does not come off easily, you may want to get a wire brush and clean up any build up and maybe TAP.....NOT BEAT the housing with a hammer to break it loose. Once hub is removed, use your wire brush to clean up the area if its been in the mud. Use that can of spray liberally now. Stop and inspect how everything is installed before you go pulling stuff out! Take your needle nose pliers again and you will see two flat springy clip like things that hold up the pads. One on top and one on bottom. Use your pliers to grab the keepers that hold these clips on and turn them until the clips pop off. Now then you have two long thin springs holding the pads together, so use your needle nose pliers to pull these off. Try not to destroy these springs and clips because most of the time, your new pads may not have new ones included and if they do, keep the old for just in case scenarios? Once you have the old out, clean liberally with your brush and spray. Make it look good and clean. Make sure the rubber dust covers on the caliper ends are in good shape and in their seated positions. Now you can install your new pads, springs, and retainer clips. Do you remember how they where installed like I told you to? There are adjustment wheels on each of the brake cylinders that you may have to use a flat head screw driver to turn. Without applying hand brake you want your brake pads to just barely rub the wheel hub when you spin it. Adjust until you get it right. Now you can reinstall your wheel hub, castle nut and carter pin, and finally your wheel and tire. Go to the other side and repeat all over again. Hope Tiny has helped you today!
