If it is still running well other than this complaint, and is under 150K miles, you really should consider putting some money into it. These cars will last 200K+ with only routine (but regular) maintenance.
ALSO: If you're close to (or over) 100K miles and have not yet replaced the timing belt - you need to factor that in as well. These engines are "interference engines" and if the timing belt fails the engine will self-destruct. Replace the water pump at the same time and save yourself an additional labor charge. The belt and the pump are both in the same location and require the exact same engine teardown to get to.
How does the Honda CR-V radiator fan motor work?
There are two motors which drive two separate fans on the CR-V radiator. One is the regular cooling system fan and it is operated by a temperature sensing switch in the coolant system that monitors the coolant temperature. When the coolant reeaches a certain temperature the temperature sensing switch turns on the current to the cooling fan. When the coolant temoperature falls below a certain temperature the switch shuts the fan off. The other fan is the fan that is controlled by the vehicle cabin air conditioner. When the A/C is turned on the fan comes on automatically with the a/c.
Where can you find the radio anti-theft code?
Usually the code is in the glove compartment, either as a separate card or a white sticker inside your owners manual. Or so I was lead to believe. Apparently this policy is not uniform throughout Honda from year to year because I bought a new car, accidently ran out the battery, and there was no card to be found. However, I got a jump and took it to the Honda dealer. They looked at my info to make sure it was my car, and wrote down the code on some paper which I now keep handy. They did this for free, so don't let anyone tell you that you need to pay for this service or remove the radio. Honda dealers can just look it up on their site.

No, it contols ONLY the variable speed of the cabin circulating fan. However, my Hayne's Manual states that CR-V's are NOT equipped with blower resistors, they are equipped with POWER resistors. The manual then states that.., "power resistors cannot be checked with conventional test equipment but can only be diagnosed as faulty through process of elimination." It then gives a 1/4 page procedure with pictures as to the step-by-step method you must use. That material is too lengthy to be quoted here and, in any case, is protected by copyright. I recommend that you purchase a manual or go to your local library and see if they have a copy of the Hayne's manual for your year CR-V and follow the procedure set forth.

While maintaining an average speed of 55 miles per hour how long would it take to drive 42 miles?
Divide 55 by 60 to arrive at "miles per minute traveled" (55/60=.917)
Now multiply .917 by 42 to arrive at the answer. 38.51 minutes.
55 is divided by 60 because there are 60 minutes in 1 hour. By dividing the speed (55mph) by the number of minutes in an hour you calculate the miles traveled in 1 minute. Now by multiplying that answer by 42 (number of miles traveled) you arrive at the amount of time it takes to travel that distance at 55mph.

How do you replace the license plate bulbs on a 2009 Honda CR-V?
First, Honda doesn't cover this in their owner's manual (see page 291)! Very frustrating! You can do it! You need a flashlight.
1) the license plate bulb assembly (clear plastic) has "remove" on the left with an arrow and "Stanley" on the right ... slide assembly right and it will release
2) the assembly is attached to an expanding cord that you can lengthen to clear the handle ... you have to work it to clear the "H" cover but it can be done
3) looking at the back of the bulb assembly you'll see two release clips for the clear cover ... the cover releases easily
4) pull the bulb out ... there is no release and it takes a bit of effort! To grasp the bulb I used a thin rubber sheet ... note where the wires are on the bulb you removed!
5) Push in relacement bulb ... wires are up on right side
6) Replace plastic cover ... it will snap in place
7) Position bulb assembly and align with cut out in hatch ... This can be frustrating but it will align ... left side mustbe positioned first, then press right side to snap in place
8) Assembly should be flush on both sides ... You're done (after a quick test)!
