29s here, yes there a release button and it is located on the shifter housing directly across from the traction control button (tcs). pop the cover up with a smell flat head screwdriver and then stick that screwdriver down into that opening and press it down. that will disingauge the neutral safety switch so you should be able to shift. if problem persists check trans fluid and linkage located below the intake hose.
