Althoug it is wrong to kill whales and sell them for meat and other products its their way of life. so when you ask why are they hunted it is because its their way of life just like we kill cows and eat them, its how they live. the humpback whale is now endangered so it is time to stop but imagine if cows became ndangered? people would still hunt them for meat because its what we eat!!!!! they are not cruel or heartless they just cant find it in their hearts and their buisnesses to stop and obey the law.
