It is an old wives tale that it is a labor inducer. I however can assure you from personal experience that it is only a laxative. I tried it with my first son and I got so scared in the middle of the runs tha I called my OBGYN and he just "hee hawed" on the phone! He said it was what I got for trying to rush things. It didn't hurt any thing but my pride. I was cleaned out for a few days!! Baby came 2 weeks later. Right on my due date. Good luck. Baby needs to be in womb 40 weeks. Walk and stay active if you want to induce labor.

If you want to clean your colon take 2 table spoons of castor oil early in the morning (5am) and rest for 2 hours. At about 7am drink 2 glasses of warm water and rest again. Drink at least 1 glass of warm water every hour till you stool becomes like water. By about 1pm the process would have finished. Eat a very light meal of boiled vegetables and watery rice for the rest of the day.

Generally, labor is not induced at 36 weeks, as the baby is still considered preterm An infant needs the additional time in the womb for lungs to be mature enough to breathe on the outside. Don't rush things. The baby will come when it is time. Good luck.

It depends if you are primigravida or a multigravida.If it is your first pregnancy, labor is longer than a mom that has kids already. It is also depends on how strong is your contraction to open up your cervix.

Inducing vomiting is indicated if the person has recently swallowed a toxin ( so it is still in the stomach) that is not caustic.

You should not induce vomiting of the person is impaired to the point where they may aspirate (get the fluid down the lungs) or the material ingested is caustic (bleach, lye, petroleum products and others).

There are several options for places you can find videos on giving birth. In your local area there should a local health unit which offers parenting and pregnancy classes. The doctor wont do that unless the cervix and body is ready. I know it's uncomfortable but if they do it when the body is not ready, the labor can be harder and longer and that is not something you want.

Skene's glands are smaller in size than the male prostate, and it would only seem logical to assume that the amount of "ejaculate" would be commensurate. Regardless of the true quantity, it is a fact, that it is possible for some women to expel (or ejaculate) prostatic fluid. Where is this mysterious gland? The Skene's gland is embedded in the wall of the urethra, and can be indirectly felt through the upper vaginal wall, 2- 3" from the entrance of the vagina. Using the pads of one or more fingers, it can best be identified as area of ridges. The center of this ridged surface, about the size of a dime to half dollar, is known as the Graffenberg spot or G-spot. In some women this may be more noticeable than others, particularly when in an un-aroused state. During arousal the G-spot (which is made of erectile tissue) fills with blood and swells to 2-3 times it's normal size. After arousal it is usually more easily identified and stimulated. Not all women are sensitive to stimulation or find it pleasurable. Since indirect pressure is applied to the bladder, some woman will feel the sensation to urinate. Breaking this psychological barrier makes it possible for some women to expel prostatic fluid, as a direct result of simultaneous stimulation of the G-spot and muscle contractions surrounding the urethra. For a woman seeking to stimulate this area on her own, it would be advisable to do so in a squatting position. The theory being that humans having evolved from quadrupeds, a female's sexual organs are biologically better designed for entry from the rear Unlike the currently widely accepted missionary position (face to face), rear entry has the advantage of exerting more direct pressure and stimulation onto the G-spot, by the penis. Secondly there is a greater chance of outward ejaculation (by the female), since the urethral canal is not compressed in a way as to inhibit the flow of fluid out of the urethral opening. Although the ability of the female to ejaculate depends on a number of factors, it must be recognized that it is not for everyone. Just as many men are not receptive to prostate stimulation, many women are not sensitive to, or do not necessarily enjoy G-spot stimulation. For those who desire to pursue the experience, the following points should be considered as essential for success. * Locating the G-spot [see illustration) * The ability to derive pleasurable sensations from G-spot massage. * Overcoming the fear of urinating, during arousal and G-spot stimulation. Emptying the bladder immediately prior to experience, since most women fear that they will urinate as soon as they relax their PC muscles. This will allow the woman to relax (or "let go") and ejaculate. * Assure that the urethral tract not unduly pressured; compressing the urethra may result in the emptying of ejaculate directly into the bladder (as opposed to the urethral opening). Im 37 weeks and dialted almost four as well, but my doctor told me that it is perfectly normal for woman to walk around up to 8 cm dilated. Every woman is different and when baby's ready to come s/he will come. Theirs no telling when it could be. With my first I didn't even have a warning. I mean I was cramping on and off for weeks but one day I just started laughind and my water just broke. And, this one theirs nights I've had contractions left and right, a min long but he still hasn't came and I have had less and less sighs of labor as times passed. So, theirs no need to worry yourself more than pregnancy already makes you. When s/he's ready sweetie you'll both know it.

At 35 weeks why would you want to hurry things along? You will birth a preemie with complications if you deliver now. It is unsafe to induce or encourage labor before 39 weeks unless you have specific medical complications that make continuing the pregnancy unsafe.

You can have sex since sperm has prostaglandins (sp.) softens the cervix. Plus sex causes you to release the oxytocin hormone which helps to trigger delivery if your uterus is ready. I've also heard that exercise and pumping breast milk helps. Castor oil can not be used for abortion. It can induce pregnancy when you have gone past week 40 but then always under control so the fetus does not defecate in the womb. If you try this you would get diarrhea and that's it. See a doctor abort a surgical abortion.

Labor is assigned for every woman. There is no specific answer. It's like asking about types of fingerprints. Every labor is special and I believe it's assigned by the one who has the power to control our existence. I have four children born naturally but with epidural (spelling may be wrong), but still painfully. The only way to categorize labor is by pain. I logged on to this website because I was looking for what it means when a child is born and there is no pain for the mom. My mom called me last night and told me that when I was born, she felt no pain. I took two days to get here and I was very famous in the hospital because I was known as "the baby who didn't want to come out", and my mom also, because with no anesthesia, she felt no discomfort except the bundle giving her a hard time coming out. Talk about Constipation!! I like the above answer. As a midwife I agree. I once looked after 2 sisters having their second babies three days apart. the first one had very little pain or even discomfort until she was actually pushing the baby out. She told me her sister would yell from start to finish, which is exactly what she did.

Oh, honey, extracting castor oil is a whole process. First, you gotta crush up those castor seeds real good to release the oil. Then, you can use either cold pressing or solvent extraction to get that precious liquid gold out. Just make sure you know what you're doing, or you might end up with a hot mess instead of a beauty elixir.

I tried that with my first child. I don't suggest it. I didn't go into labor, but I crapped myself silly! Try pinching your nipples, or getting your man to do it. That releases hormones into your system that will trigger labor. I'm not saying it will work every time, but that's how I induced my labor with my last child.

Yes my daughter was born today without the waters breaking the midwife said it was very unusual and very lucky , there is a name for it but it escapes me , if born into a fishermans family the child is considered very lucky with an extra life !

walking a lot is helpful--- i myself had false labor pain and i walk the whole park 5 times a day and when it was time to give birth it took me 2 hours to have my baby but don't forget the water and also sorry to be in your business ..a lot of sex help too... believed me i try this and it work for me--hope this is helpful best of luck to you and your pride of joy

YOu won't know all you can do is stay hydrated and go for a walk. Walking speeds up the process. Or try some old wives tales like eating spicy food. Your body will know when it the best time. Some people pop at 37 weeks, that is there done time. It can take days to weeks. It just depends on how your body dialates. I was in labor for 37 hours fully effaced and only dialated to three cm. with my first child. I ended up with a c-section. It wasn't to bad just as painful as labor. GOOD LUCK
