Will Castro oil induce labor at 38 weeks?

I tried castor oil a few days ago at 38 weeks and 2 days. Biggest mistake of my life! I was convinced it would work so I took 4 tbs in OJ right before bed. Needless to say, I didn't get a wink of sleep except the few times I fell asleep on the toilet. I definitely don't recommend it. It's hard enough getting out of bed that far along, but getting out of bed that far along and praying that you don't poop on the way to the bathroom is a million times worse.

I just went to the health food store and bought black cohosh and blue cohosh. The guy there told me to take 1 dropperful of each three times a day and i would have him within the next 72 hours. ...in other words, stay away from castor oil!!

How can you safely induce labor at 36 weeks?

Sex. Ejaculate is a known cervix-softener, as it contains high amounts of testosterone. Also, orgasm can cause uterine contractions. Include nipple stimultation, and you're good to go! HOWEVER, I would recommend waiting another week or 2 JUST TO MAKE SURE you are at the gestational age considered "full term" since sometimes the doctors are wrong when they calculate a "due date".
