Well if you are already on a computer you can use putty or winscp from a windows computer to access another computer. i recommend winscp as a more regular application. if you aren't already on a computer the operating system should be able to set a password for different accounts

In different browsers, there is always an option for you to delete relevant browser history. For example:

Firefox: click Tools, there is an option that lets you to delete history files, that's it.

Becareful to delete auto recorded passwords!
Note: browsing history can contain the search history, internet browsing history, cache, cookies, cache, auto complete form history, etc. If you have deleted the auto complete form history, and you have not remembered the password, then you can't sign in that web site next time unless you register a new account.

if you upgraded to 3.1.1 your pretty much screwed apple took out the support of external mics from the iPod Touch before that it worked with 2.1.1 to 3.0 then Apple screwed us with the 3.1.1 so if you can roll back to 3.0 or earlier then go for it

Go to System Preferences>Sharing and check "Internet Sharing" then set "Share your connection from" to Ethernet. Next in the "To computers using" box check AirPort. Then you can even add a password! (Or not) Now, if you go to your iPod Touch you should see your computer name as a network! You can also do this so OTHER computers can connect to it, useful in hotels. -Froast

you usually have the option to not delete all your data (song or whatever) when connecting your ipod to another computer, just make sure you don't sync your ipod with that other library.
