If you mean on an IMac, all you need to do is move it to trash and empty the trash. It deletes all the files with it (Unlike windows). If you mean an IPhone, then I am pretty sure it is not possible unless you jailbreak.

a jailbreak is a process of adding applications that apple does not allow. I will hack your ipod touch/iphone and will add one of the following apps:Icy, Cydia, Rock, Installer, and Blacra1n. All you need to due is to put your itouch into DFU mode by holding down the sleep/wake button and the home button for 10 seconds and you will then release the sleep button after 10 seconds but keep holding the home button down. Do this while is plugged into your computer. Itunes will then recognize it and you will then be able to restore it to its firmware and it will work properly. Unless you battery no longer holds a charge.
