Can you date in Islam?

Answer 1

No, Muslims are not allowed to date period. The men, however, may marry a Christian, Jew, or Sabian provided she is religious and a virgin.

Answer 2

Answer 1 is correct; however, it is not all inclusive. Another large factor on Muslim's dating out of religion is country of residence and how conservative the faith of the family is. If the Muslim person wishes to date outside of their religion, sex aside, and the family is very conservative, especially the male figure of the household (Islam, being very patriarchal in nature), they will most likely not allow this and through pressure, threat of rejection, disowning, and sometimes even violence. Correct, a male may do this, but if the family is conservative, this may even be a far-shot. Even though it is not allowed, a female may still date and outside of the religion, if she and the family do not care if it violates their religion.

Lastly, the country of residence has a lot to do with this as well. Say, if one lives in Canada, which does not have Sharia law, and is more government by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, a Muslim man or woman may date whoever they want, of whatever sex they want, because the government allows this. If the person is above 18 years of age, then is considered an adult in Canada, and the family, no matter how conservative their faith is, cannot legally control the decisions of this person. In fact, it would be illegal in Canada (against Charter of Rights and Freedoms) to not let someone date whoever they want (as long as they are of age). So, finally, religious rules aside, I would also review the legal rules of the country that the situation takes place in as well.

How did the violence start with the Shiite and Sunni?

Shia and Sunni have mostly same beliefs and both believe in fundamental beliefs of Islam. Today there is up to 260 sects in Islam that are in two main categories of shia and sunni.

the conflict of shia and sunni has been always amplified by world Imperialism to prevent Islam from gaining power.

Shia believes in Allah, prophet and all fundamentals of Islam.

Shia pray 5 times a day but usually do the 2, 3 and 4, 5 pray together and so may seem they do only 3 pray a day. there is some differences in details of pray like genuflect (for shia should be on a stone or part of earth and for sunni on carpet or floor ).

shia believe after death of prophet God selected the successive for prophet who is the political leader of Muslim community and people can not and does not the right to selected it.

Shia believes the Caliph (Representative of God in earth) is selected only by God and can not be selected by people because God said in Koran: "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority" (Quran 2:30) or "O David! We did indeed make thee a vicegerent on earth" (Quran 38:26) also other verses.

Shia believes such verses means only God can select an Islamic political leader (Caliph).

In Shia Islam Caliphs after prophet are 12 Imams and all of them are the same and have no mistake and have the knowledge of everything (not absolute knowledge like knowledge of God) and they hear all sayings and even thinks of all humans after even after their death by permission of God and they are intermediates between God and human Shia Muslims always support them and forgive their lives for them.

Shia Muslims do not consider selection of Abubakr as Caliph by people valid because God did not select him. They believe God ordered prophet to declare people that Ali is selected as successor of prophet and prophet did this mission many times during his prophet-hood and mainly in Ghadir event after last Hajj of his life at a 3-4 hour speech in front of 120,000 Muslims at Ghadir in hot desert after 2 days stop of long caravan for gathering and 3 days after speech for congratulations and homage of Muslims to Ali. Islam at that time had high power in world and Some companions had high interest in leadership position after prophet. Muslims knew that it is the final Hajj of prophet (predicted by prophet) and were going along with prophet to hear what prophet says at end of his life. Shia believes Ghadir event is the most important event of Islam and is mentioned in Koran in many verses like "Today" (اليوم) in verse 5:3 of Quran is the day of Ghadir. Or Verse 5:67 (O Messenger! proclaim the (message) which hath been sent to thee from thy Lord. If thou didst not, thou wouldst not have fulfilled and proclaimed His mission. And Allah will defend thee from men (who mean mischief). For Allah guideth not those who reject Faith) is revealed at Ghadir day and is about declaring political leadership of Ali after prophet.

Both Sunni and Shia Muslims accept happening of Ghadir event But different interpret. Some Sunni writers tried to reject the event of Ghadir as declare of leadership of Ali and said at Ghadir prophet only wanted to say Ali is my friend and no one should bother him. Ali had 3 different missions to Yemen by prophet during 10 years and in 2 of them some companions of prophet had some conflicts with Ali and and prophet said some sayings about Ali to solve conflicts and some sunni writers have mixed stories of missions of Ali to Yemen with story of Ghadir to prove Ghadir event is not about Leadership of Ali and is not important.

Shia scholars believe some Sunni writers have changed and deviated historical evidences about political leadership of Ali in old historical books and republished them to destroy evidences of leadership of Ali from old Sunni books.

The famous Shia book Al-Ghadir (الغدير) by Allameh Amini is a collection of evidences and proofs for Ghadir Events written after referring to 100,000 Sunni books and full reading of 10,000 sunny books. Allameh Amini is a famous Shia scholar and spent 40 years of his life in travelling to access original old Sunni books in libraries in different countries to write this 20 volume book only from Sunni books and not using any Shia book. Some Sunni scholars tried to reply this book but then said if we want to reply this book we should first destroy all books of ourselves.

Shia doctrine have root in Karbala tragedy. When tragedy of Karbala happened most of Iranians understood there is two different kinds of Islam and after happening of Karbala tragedy most of Iranians became followers of "Ahl al-Bayt" and forgive their lives for them like what they did in Iranian Revolution and Iran-Iraq War. Shia Muslims have at least 120,000 Hadith (saying) from The Fourteen Infallibles that is the base of Shia Islam along with Quran. Shia believes according to " Hadith of the two weighty things" The Fourteen Infallibles are the only valid interpreters of Quran and sayings of them are from God because they are Representative of God in earth and they do not say anything from themselves. Shia believes 12th of them (Mahdi) is alive and because people have killed all 11 Imams before him, he is in hide like Jesus and will come out of hide toghether with Jesus when people become ready and want to accept his leadership. All 11 Imams have been killed and during their life thy all have been in prison or under hard control of government to not have any political action. They never had enough serious followers to can get political power. Among them only the sixth Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq was relatively free in his life to have only scientific activities (but banned from any political action) and so only he is known in west because he established university and had students from all over the world. Westerns know him as a polymath: an astronomer, alchemist, Imam, Islamic scholar, Islamic theologian, writer, philosopher, physician, physicist and scientist. He was also the teacher of the famous chemist, Jābir ibn Hayyān (Geber), and of Abū Ḥanīfa, the founder of the Hanafi school of Sunni Islamic jurisprudence. He never wanted be a famous man and only shared his knowledge with who wanted to learn. Some researchers consider his teachings the root cause of renaissance.

Sunni Muslims also accept Mahdi and his worldwide leadership as Caliph of God in earth at end of world. There is a famous Hadith from prophet Muhammad (PBUH) that Mahdi at hide is like sun behind cloud, he is hidden from people but people receive his benefits. Shia Muslims say some faithful believers have connection with Mahdi and use his knowledge. Shia Muslims believe that it is proved at least 1000 persons have had connection and talk with Mahdi during his hide period but Any one having relation with Mahdi keep it and does not declare it in public until is alive.

What did Abu Bakr do as Khalifa?

He was a companion

Answer-2

Hazrat Abu Bakr rau is the Best Man excluding the Prophets. His services as a Companion of our beloved Prophet (SAW) are un-matched. His services as the Caliph of Rasool (SAW) were also matchless. The following verse from the holy Qur'an stands witness to this fact:

Sura Taubah: Para 10. Ayat No. 40. This verse (Ayat) was revealed in the background of Ghuzwah-i-Tabuk which was a point of Test and turmoil for the Muslims. The weather was extremely hot and the crop of Dates was ready for harvesting. Seeing the reluctance of a few persons Almighty Allah Jabbar reminded the Muslims the time when He helped His Prophet (SAW) in utter adversity and helplessness.

1. Translation: If you don't help him (the prophet), (no matter), Allah Almighty is Himself his Helper. He helped him (at that time) when the Unbelievers drove him out (of Makka). (At that time) He had only one companion (Abu Bakr). (When) they two were in the Cave (Thoar), and he consoled his companion, "Don't be afraid, for Allah is with us (both)." Then Allah sent his peace upon them and helped them which forces which you couldn't see, and humbled the words of the Unbelievers. Allah's word is exalted to the Highest, for Allah is exalted in Might, (He is) Wise."

2. At this Testing occasion- Ghuzwah Tabuk, Hazrat Abu BakrSiddique (RAU) collected all his belongings and placed them at the sacred feet of the holy Prophet (SAW).

3. Hazrat Abu BakrSiddique (RAU) was Second of the Two in the Cave of Thoar. Thus he earned the Title: The Second of the Two.

4. Siddique: He earned this Title when he testified the claim of the holy Prophet (SAW) about his Journey to Masjid-i-Aqsa in Jerusalem.

5. His braver, steadfastness, devotion to Islam, his Love for the holy Prophet (SAW), his sacrifice for Islam, his life.

6. As a Caliph of Rasool (SAW) he united the Muslims under one banner, kept them intact, fought against the false claiments of Prophet-hood, defeated the Munkreen-i-Zakat, compiled the holy Qur'an and established the Muslim Empire on firm footing. History proves that at the death of the holy Prophet (SAW) only a person of his caliber could have kept the Muslim Umma under one banner. He was so devoted to the holy Prophet (SAW) that he sent out the army which the Prophet (SAW) had ordered.

Who is the first in the world who memorizes Quran by heart?

Memorize Quran by heart has always been a precious goal for many Muslims. It’s a spiritual, mental, and physical journey that illuminates the Muslim’s soul and mind.

Once someone completely memorizes the Quran, called Hafiz (for male) or Hafiza (for female). Hafiz linguistically means “guardian” or “memorizer” which is actually Arabic word (“حافظ”) comes from the infinitive word “Hifz” in Arabic (meaning “keeping preserved”).

Advantages of Hifz Quran (Quran Memorization)

The Holy Quran is not just the holy book of Islam, but it’s a miracle from Allah (SWT), and the ability to completely keep it to memory is a great blessing for Muslim.

Unlike other divine books, the Quran was preserved across time without any editing by humans. Actually, Quran memorization acted as a great aid for its preservation because at the time of the revelation of the Quran, books were not readily available and so it was common for people to learn it by heart.

Quran memorization could elevate the people in this life and in the hereafter as the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “Indeed Allah will elevate some people with this book and he will degrade others with it.” “إنَّ اللهَ تعالى يَرفَعُ بهذا الكِتابِ أَقوامًا ، و يَضَعُ بِه آخَرينَ”

Moreover, memorizing the Quran means that Muslim will gain ten good deeds for each letter! Just imagine how many good deeds if the Muslim managed to memorize the whole Quran!?

The Quran includes all the sciences of this world and the hereafter, the stories of ancestors and successors. It includes many of the scientific, cosmic, legislative and medical facts, and it includes also provisions, laws and legislation that regulate the life of a believer and make him much happier. This means that when you memorize the Quran, you memorize the largest encyclopedia.

This Quran, which you memorize and keep today, will be your companion at the dying moment!! It will be your defender and your intercessor at the time you are abandoned by the nearest people.

It’s proved that the Quran has healing power with by permission of Allah (SWT). It can miraculously cure physical and psychological diseases.

Also, Hafiz Quran takes precedence over others in leading the prayer as narrated by the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) when said:

“The people should be led in prayer by the one among them who has the most knowledge of the Book of Allaah” “يؤم القوم أقرؤهم لكتاب الله”

Did the prophets spread the message that people should work?

Islam as An Arabic word means submission to God and surrender to His will. In this sense Islam is the message and religion since start of the universe creation. It was the message of all God prophets since Adam through Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (Peace be upon them). All God prophets called their followers to work; to work for God worship and to work for mankind and our planet prosperity and development. In Quran, you always find faith is coupled with work. Whenever in Quran God is promising rewards and forgiveness, God say 'the faithful and who are doing good'. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said in more than one occasion that who works for himself and family is better than who stays in ritual worship all over the day and ask others to give him/her to eat and survive. Work for ones benefit, his/her community, and environment improvement is of very important ranking in Muslim society. Prophet urged his followers to work to the extent that if the Surrender day comes and one has seeds in his/her hands to be planted, he/she should plant them. Many other examples in Quran and prophet Muhammad (PBUH) sayings and practices urges Muslims for work.
