If it is any help, on my 1995 (4.0 HO ) it is on the intake manifold. If you are standing on the dirvers side of the vehicle looking in the engine compartment, look to the right of the TB carburator. There are two vacume ports with vacume tubing and one port with a two wire harness going to the sensor. This is you IAT sensor.( It is commomnly unpluged and after market diodes are attached for better performance or mileage)

use wheel spacers my friend, this will position the tires farther away from the struts.

Just remove the plug in the differential cover and stick your little finger in. If there's oil all the way up to the plug hole, then you're in good shape. Of not, add 80w90 oil via this hole until it dribbles out. Put the plug back on and you're done.

I just replaced mine and it took 30 minutes and the part was $35 (from Jeep dealer). Start by removing 3 philips screws that hold glove box in place (on bottom edge of glove box). Once glove box is out you can see the resistor but I couldn't get to it without removing the black panel under the glove box. ...So remove the bolt/screw that hold the little light that lights up floor by passengers feet. Next, remove 4 or 5 screws that hold the black plastic panel that is under the glove box (I removed the 2 screws toward firewall and a couple toward the seat and left the one on the right hand side screwed in because it was hard to reach) ... then remove 2 screws holding the resistor. Screw in new resistor. THEN TURN ON JEEP AND CHECK TO MAKE SURE IT WORKS. Now just reverse the process and put the plastic panel and glove box back. That's All Folks!

I just changed one of mine a few weeks ago. The shop wanted to charge me $250 to replace both, but I took it to Auto Zone to have them do the diagnostics test on it. Turns out only one was bad, it cost $85 and was pretty easy to put in. The repair manuals that Auto Zone sells give really good instructions.

There is no time frame for replacing a relay. You will only need to replace one if it goes bad. Then you can test it by replacing it with a different relay from a different plug that is the same type, and that you check to see what that one will affect. hope this helps.

The cam sensor is inside the distributor.

4.7L uses 5w30

4.0L uses 10w30

The neutral safety switch and backup light switch are one in the same. You have to replace it. It is located on the transmission where the shifter connects to it.

which engine the 3.7 and 4.7 are both on the passenger side of the engine bloc about 2-3 inches above the oil pan on the 4.7 the starter blocks the sensor

Blocked fuel line or SOCK (pickup) inside fuel tank-fuse 2 fuel pump OR anti-rollover switch that has been bumped or in a wreck.OR the hose that connectes the fuel pump 2 the pick-up tube inside the tak.or a bad fuel pump.

1st check to see it the fuel pump is getting power. If not check if power is getting to the fuel pump relay.

A 1988 Jeep Cherokee does not have an inertia switch. The fuel system is computer controlled with relays.

Behind the glove box. It was an option and might not be there unless it was an installed option.

It isn't labelled, but they work with the regular lights fuses #7 and #23.

It is on the same circuit as the brake lights, but if they are not working, and the bulbs are good your switch needs cleaning or adjustment.

Attempt this first since the switch costs nearly $300 bucks.

On the passengers side of the trans just behind the bell housing there is a fan shaped switch, loosen the 12mm bolt ( smaller of the two, and rotate the switch while a friend checks the lights. this problem is usually accompanied by an occasional inability to start the vehicle, but can be cured by jiggling the shifter.

While adjusting the switch make sure that the vehicle will start in park as well, remember to block the wheels while testing the back up lights, engine off, key in run but not start, shifter in reverse, move switch until lights come on.

Once you find this spot, hold it in place and have your helper check to make sure it will start. This may take several tries to get both working correctly.

If you have no luck the switch may be dirty, this happens a lot. Hold the post to the bottom large bolt still while you loosen the nut, then remove it, then remove the 12mm adjusting bolt on top, remove the wire connector and pull the switch away, remove the bolts on the switch and separate the halves, use electrical contact cleaner and maybe some q-tips to clean all the copper connections completely apply di-electric grease and reassemble, refit to the trans and readjust so all functions work, this switch controls back up and start safety.

Caution! always hold that bottom bolt while tightening the large nut, this is connected to the gear adjuster and you could damage the internals if it isn't secured while you do it.

Most common problem is that the blend door is stuck or broken.

I broke the high/low beam switch on the steering wheel and don't want to take the column apart to replace it, I want to tie a switch in, which is legal for an inspection sticker so we can drive it again, thx. it would at least just help to find a free wiring diagram.
