I have the same problem on my 2002 jeep grand Cherokee. Both hood lifts no longer hold the weight of the hood. I found that you can buy brand new aftermarket hood lifts from eBay motors for about $20 plus shipping. To remove the old lifts have a friend hold up the hood. Then take a small screw driver and pop off the safety ring on each end of the old lift. Push the old lift off the small mounting posts. The new lift just snap on those posts...it takes 10 minutes total.

Be sure the fat gas cylinder is mounted on the top and the shaft at the bottom. This ensures the shaft is properly lubricated. Just put them in in the same position/direction as the old struts.

Check the connectors to the injectors, use a piece of hose run the engine place one end of the hose in your ear and the other end on the questioned injector and hear then click, if no click probably is bad and will need replacing

Jeep does not use inertia./reset switches. The fuel system is computer controlled with relays.

Defective relay, switch, or motor. Open the driver door. Pull back the rubber boot covering the wire bundle and you'll probably find at least one broken wire. Splice in a new piece. Be sure to check the others that you can for signs of wear. broken wires was the problem.

== == I'm in the process of removing the evaporator on a 95 jeep grand Cherokee. You would need to remove the dash, steering, center and glove box. What's left is a black plastic layer called subframe. This sub frame is bolted to the chasis. At the back of the glove box is a plastic moulding. This is where the evap is located. That will be my next step which is to remove the open the black plastic moulding. Someone told me that some aftermarket evaporators will not fit the plastic molding. Got to make sure it fits or get one at the dealership. Since you are there, replace the heater core also. You don't want to repeat this endeavor again. On a V8 there are two sensors, the are located on either side of the neck where the thermostat is located. Standing in front of the vehicle the one on the left is for the temp. guage, the one on the right is for the computer. If it is the six cylinder and you're getting the "COOLANT SENSOR BAD" message on the VIC that refers to the level sensor in the header tank. I have this problem and the sensor is not at fault. From investigations on the web it seems that the connections on the VIC are the problem, possibly dry solder joint. Difficulty is getting the VIC out!

It has one, it is located in the exhaust in front of the catalytic converter.

First you must pinch off the fuel line on the top side of the fuel pump so there wont be any fuel loss, then remove the fuel tank straps and remove the tank from your jeep. there will be a big screw on lide then remove the fuel pump from the tank.

If you have the same transmission as in my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee special edition it is located inside the transmission case which can be accessed by removing the lower pan in the transmission.

What I did: I went to pep boys automotive and bought an "in-line fuse circuit breaker" with the same amp fuse and connected the ends into the existing fuse location. Now when the fuse pops, it just automatically resets and has been fine for years not. This set up will cost you about $15.00 - and save you from buying more fuses.

If you are having a problem with the alarm going off seemingly at random or will not disable even with the key in the lock or ignition. the problem is your battery. I have had this problem, when the security system is acting odd..get the battery checked right away, you may have to have a dealer re-program your computer also. you cannot disconect the alarm.it works with a frecuincy receiver in the pasengerdoor on the door lockswitch You can ground out factory alarm by removing driver side kick panel, finding purple wire with yellow stripe. Expose portion of wire...do not splice in half. Take piece of speaker wire, connect one end to exposed portion of purple & yellow wire, and ground other end of speaker wire to metal part of jeep. This will disable alarm. Just did mine 2 days ago.

i think it is ignition control module left side under hood on fire wall three wire clips on front looks like computer i think it serves as memory but it will stall when warm around 45 50 mile a hour wait 30 min to crank up again turn switch till odometer comes on flip rite back off repeat two times codes apear done meaning no code in memory hope this helps i have changed gas filter cleaned tank and put new crank shaft sensor not going to fix this factory defect in coating in component's listed above [ i c m ].if you need location of fuel system. sensors or any you can e mail david.marler@hotmail.com
