You will need to replace the battery if it won't hold a charge, but given a suitable source vehicle it should still be possible to jump start (NB 'jump' electrically, not tow-start) any car even with a fully flat battery.

The paint code for a 1988 Jeep Wrangler Sahara is PJ5 it is also called yellowish green.

Zip both zippers all the way down to the left side if your looking at it from the rear. the zippers stack together, that way you can zip both sides and roll it up if you want.

Rotate headlight knob clockwise. check yer owners manual and remove the fuse behind the glove compartment.

As a jeep owner who has redone my exhaust several times. i know all about how to swap out parts and what not. the ebst way to get out your old muffler is by using a sawzall and cutting it on the tail pipe end first. then u cut the front. If you plan on redoing your exhaust more than once you will need a new tail pipe because there will not be enough pipe left to clamp anything too.the whole process takes about 45 minutes. I own a 94 yj. the front pipe is 1 and 7/8 inches in dia. and the rest is 2 1/4 (i think). Just to let you know what i did, i cut out the cat and muffler and put in a cherry bomb and ran a straight pipe to it, and it sounds really good. it cost me about $40 to do that.

All TJ models should be compatible.

Contrary to a previous posting - please note that some Jeeps (depending on year/model) don't have a PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation), but DO have a CCV (Closed Crankcase Ventilation) - which ends up being a simple tube (no internal valve or special controls for air transfer).

Depending on the year/model of your Wrangler, the CCV is on the rear center of the valve cover (on the very top/center part over the engine), while the Fresh Air Intake (which looks very similar to a PCV or CCV, but is connected to that large air intake hose) is toward the front of the valve cover.

I KNOW the 2001 Wrangler has a CCV - I just broke the tubing and valve itself this weekend as I was leaning in to change all six fuel injectors (it was brittle - which is common after a while). Your vehicle should still run (although it will idle high) without it, but definitely replace if you can.

Also, you might want to purchase a Haynes manual (or similar) for $20-$30. If you do get the Haynes type manual for 87-08 Wranglers, you'll see that page 6-2 image 2.5b illustrates the location of your CCV in a lovely diagram.

Key on engine off, press gas pedal to the floor three times, cycle key off and back on.

I found three. One with the radio, one with the wipers, and one with the stop lamp relay.

In most states, if the vehicle is designed to be operated that way it is legal ( Jeeps are ), but all states require all safety systems to work, so seat belts, side mirrors etc all need to be present and working as well as utilized

Starting with the 2007 model year you can get a 4 door version of the Wrangler.

This is usually caused by either the sender in the tank is bad and should be replaced, or the gauge is not reading correctly and needs to be repaired or replaced.

There is a vacuum operated switch on the backside of the front axle. On a '95 it is held in place by 4 small bolts. It should have an electrical connection, as well as a pair of vacuum lines going into a round vacuum pump. Check the vacuum lines for leaks or they could be pulled loose. Also, the vacuum pump could have rusted through, which would prevent the switch from operating. I had the same experience on my '95 and that was the problem. Hope this helps

Manual trans was originally an AX-15. You could put an NV3550 in its place.

Auto trans was originally a 32RH. You COULD swap an AW4 from a Cherokee in. You'd gain an extra gear but you would have to wire it all in. Very involved.

Depends on if it's a strapless style bikini or not. 87-90 Wranglers used a different style of rollbar, so if the bikini just goes from the windshield frame to the rollbar and wraps around, it will work.

No, they will not bolt up correctly due to different bolt patterns. However, you can buy wheel adapters for the YJ to make the 2012 wheels fit.
