My friend had a 2000 f-350 dually. The 4 wheelsdrive stopped working. He checked the electric transfer case motor. It had power but was not working. He got a new motor and installed it. Still no 4-wheel drive. The light did not come on or anything. He tried locking the hubs, putting them in auto. Nothing. It did blow a fuse for the transfer case motor. He thought could the new motor be bad to. It was a rebuild from NAPA. We were wondering is there a way to test the motor?
He could turn the front drive shaft by hand but he could not turn the shaft that the electric motor turns. He wonders what could cause this. Does this mean that the Transfer case is bad?
He got the truck fixed. He put the new motor on and nothing. No power. Checked the fuse. Blown. Changed it and still no power. Shaft would not turn was about ready to take it to the dealer for repair. Checked the Relays. Decided to try changing them just to rule everything he could out before taking it to ford. Put the new relays in and still had no power on the wire that goes to the Motor. He thought he would connect the motor and the other wire that tells the truck when the transfer case is engaged. Power! Must have to have both plugged to open the circuit. Heard the motor turn. He thought well, he would try mounting the motor again to see if it would turn the transfer case shaft. He had doubts since he could not turn the shaft how was this little motor? Unbelievably it worked. Therefore, his problem was first the electric motor went out and then the relays went bad. Their are two relays. One for the low range and one for 4x4. One fuse under the hood #17 and one under the dash #19. Therefore, if you people ever have this problem For the motor, $154 at NAPA. In addition, two relays $21 and one fuse $2.

1991 jeep wrangler 4x4 wont work?
The most likely culprit on the 87-95 Wranglers is that funky vacuum motor that sits on the passenger side of the front axel. If you do not engage the 4WD frequently, it freezes up. I have taken the motor out & squirted it liberally with PB Blaster (or another good penetrating oil- NOTE_ WD-40 will probably work but is not a penetrating oil but a water dispersant- penetrating oils work better as they are designed specifically to get past the gunk to loosen things). Then work the action back & forth many times to free the shaft. I always engage my 4WD now when I start my beast to keep the shaft moving. The shaft moves a fork that rides in a slot on a sleeve that links the center & passenegr parts of the axel together to kick in 4WD. To check if your Xfer case is engaging, put vehicle on 4 jack stands & make sure they are solid. Then start the Jeep & engage 4WD and have someone look at the front drive shaft on the driver's side. If it is turning, the Xfer case is working. Another option is to replace the vacuum system with a manual cable system ( I will go this route eventually). Posi-Lok makes a nice set up but it also costs just Iver $200. Another way is to search for a home made cable system that can be made for about $30 if you are handy. If not, then go the Posi-Lok route.

Easiest wasyis to build a regular speaker box built to the speakers specifications, and cut a hole in the box where ever you want the plexigalss. to install it you need to cut a small grove along the hole you cut earliers so that the plexiglass can sit even with the rest of the box. after that carefully place clear silicone on the surface you will place the plexiglass on and stick the piece on. pre drill holes so you can place small srews in it for added structure.

All Jeeps ride a bit hard, its because they are a tough 4wd vehicle set up for offroading, but I am pretty happy with the ride of mine, the TJ Wrangler is a great upgrade from the log wagon ride of the YJ and CJ.
