I've had a difficult time finding the answer to this question as well. The best I've found so far is that it depends on where you live. Both the east (esp. the east coast) and west coast (mainly CA) pay the most as opposed to the midwestern and southern states. "Other Org" whatever that means makes the most with the median being just over $49,000; self employed coming in second with the median being just over $47,000; and private firm came in last with just over $45,500 as the median. The objective of a resume for any position is to show your suitability for the position offered. Use the description of the opening to Taylor your information to suit it. Use the skills and experience that applies to this position, don't make things up. Don't overpower your resume with a lot of information that is not applicable to this position; if the recipient can't find the information pertaining to the position quickly, they will go on to the next resume.

In all business correspondence, I've learned to put my phone number (or address if applicable) at the end of the last sentence so they have no problem finding it.

Large paragraphs or blocks of text usually lead a busy manager skip it and move on; that applies to the resume also. The purpose of the resume is to get the reader to call you, not to tell your whole history. If you have computer access, it's best to tailor each resume to the description of the job as described in the opening, especially the "goals". That should match the opening as closely as your qualifications will allow. No fake info, you will be found out eventually.

If it is a physically challenging job that you are applying for then say that your hobbies are fitness/sport related. ie, tennis, dancing If is a sedentary job being more mental than physical then state that your hobbies are mentally related ie. doing crosswords, puzzles, reading etc.

An administrator usually keeps things running in the office. They work with customers or clients, answer the phone and complete word processing tasks. A debit and credit clerk is responsible for managing the flow of finances in the office and keeping track of accounts payable and accounts receivable.

A little background about the question. I recently interviewed at a Fortune 500 company.

1. After the interview, I sent the standard thank you note to each person that interviewed me.

2. A week later, I followed up. I was told the decision would take an additional week.

3. I followed up 2 weeks later and was told by the hiring manager that he was out of town and would make a decision a week later.

4. Again, I let 2 weeks pass by and still no word.

I had 2 people personally recommend me to the hiring manager. One person worked with the hiring manager on a previous project and the other currently works with him in different department.
