As a guy who was shy when younger, it was often difficult to express feelings to someone that I liked and the easiest thing was to not say anything at all! There are no clear cut answers here, however, if he does gaze your way but avoids verbal contact it could be a sign that he likes you. Most guys are insecure with themselves and often need a prompt from the girl in question, so I would suggest you set up a situation where you could bump into him and talk about something you have in common. This would be a good start and if nothing else could develop a close friendship.

Some people can take compliments if the are confident in themselves and others find it difficult. The compliments should come from the heart and if they do just speak your mind. Too often people never give enough compliments to others and a good compliment can recharge the batteries of many people. There are more than 6 billion people on the planet and the number is growing, so yeah its there is something called love and its been working for a long time. Too bad you've missed out on it, never too late though.

if she looks at you with a smile, tries to show off after she sees you, or seems like she is paying attention, she probably is interested. if you think she probably is, go up to her and say hi, but don't give her some cheesy pick up line, she'll probably just hrow her drink at you. lol. but seriously, just say hi, if she smiles at you and says hi back or her friends kind of back up to leave you two alone (she probably told her friends you were cute) she likes you. and if she doesn't, then who cares, you're probably never going to see her again if you just met her at a dance or at the mall.

I believe that it is alright for a 13 year old to date a 17 year old, and long as she has know him for quite a while, feels comfortable around him, and knows that he would not do anything to harm her. I am currently in this relationship, and I don't see any problems, other than the fact that we don't go to the same school, and I'm not allowed in his car, even though he is an extremely responsible driver with a license.

I think it depends on the girl. I have a hispanic boyfriend. I fell in love with him instantly. Its just something about how they make you feel. That sexy accent and how they make your heart beat faster and faster w/ each passing second. Mexican men know how to treat their women. If they have a family w/ them, they will never abandon them and will always try their best to take care of them. Most girls prefer Good looks and a great personality. If the child is now in middle school, the change in environment may be taking a toll on the child's better nature. It is stressful dealing with class changes, hormones and trying to learn. Make sure that the child is getting enough rest and quiet time at home as well as enough exercise (soccer? Swimming?) and a balanced diet. TV, phone and computer games should not be done the last part of the day. Watch for learning problems and get help early. If the child is unwilling to do homework, it may be that there is something that is not understood--keep in touch with the teachers and take the child to tutoring if homework is not being completed.
