It depends on the legend you want the answer for...in the book "Mists of Avalon" and most legends Merlin's parents are Druids. In the book "I am Morgan Le Fay" Merlin's parents were normal people. In the show Merlin, Merlin's mom, Hunith, is a peasent woman and his dad, Balinor, is a dragon lord. Hope this answers your question.

That depends on who is telling the story. In the earliest versions of the story, it was Sir Perceval. Later romances made it Sir Galahad. At least one medieval German work has it be Sir Gawain.

Merlin is part of the king arthur legend, so i guess people would like 2 make it interesting if they base it off a character in that legend, as long as they add the main characters.

I think Sir Gareth is most admirable. He suffers the abusive tongue of Linet as they journey from Camelot to her sister's castle. And in spite of her insults, Garerht fights and defeats knights and thieves left and right. In fact, he says her insults only drove him to fight harder to prove himeslf. And in the rest of the Morte d'Arthur, Gareth always is on the side of chivalry. He doesn't betray his lord's trust like Lancelot did. Gareth doesn't even want to take sides when lancelot and Guinevere's affair is exposed. When she is condemened to burn at the stake, Gareth serves as a guard against his own wishes and only under orders.

It looks Freaken Awesome! That's what it looked like. I don't know how it looked like, but it had to be real heavy, and most of it's weight had to be at the tip. The tip had to be a sharp sledge hammer spike. I bet the metal was unlike any other, because the philistines had metal making technology. The sword of Goliath must have been a custom made weapon for him, and it must have had a long handle. With one swing he could take out 10 or more enemies out, and swing 3 times per second, you have a lot of death.

I don't think david could have lifted the sword of Goliath when he cut his head off. He must have dragged the sword's blade to Goliath's neck and stomped on the handle. I think when David grew up and became a warrior, he was able to use the sword's weight to his advantage. I don't know what happened to the sword after David took it from the temple's storage. He must have killed so many people with that Giant Sword, but he probably got tired of carrying that thing everywhere. Probably gave it to a friend, or burried it with a fallen warrior. David's story is better than Star Wars.

The men themselves are quite different, both in rank and personality, truthfully. Sir Gawain is actually considered one of the less able bodied men of King Arthur's knights, while Odysseus is probably the most able bodied man of his ship - of which he is captain, therefore making his rank notably higher than Sir Gawain's. Sir Gawain's quest is more that of a moral/ethical undertaking - will he follow the king's (green knight's) orders while he is away hunting, or will Gawain succumb to his base temptations? While, on the other hand, Odysseus' quest is of a much different nature, which is mostly to get home. Also, Sir Gawain quests alone, while Odysseus has a crew of men with him - though it dwindles over time. By the end, I'm not sure how much similarity there really is between the two, other than that they are both on quests (one by land, the other by sea).

I suppose it's really because things were very different then. In Ancient Egypt people could become pharoahs at as young as nine. So I guess, really, if we're considering the story complete and utter fact, it was just because things were just so different.

I believe you must mean who is the person who pulled the sword out of the stone. I think it's the little green guy you play as in The Legend of Zelda: 25th aniversary edition.
