Where is the throttle position sensor in a landrover discovery 2?
In a Land Rover Discovery 2, the throttle position sensor (TPS) is located on the throttle body, which is situated on the intake manifold. It is typically mounted on the side of the throttle body and is connected to the accelerator pedal via a linkage. The TPS monitors the position of the throttle plate and sends this information to the engine control unit (ECU) to regulate engine performance. Accessing it may require removing some engine cover components for better visibility.

Where is the fuse for the cigarette lighter in 2003 land rover discovery?
Here's the official "long answer". There are many fused points for you to check, but give it a try. Remember, observe electrical safety!
Cigar Lighter Supply
Circuit supply
A feed from the battery positive terminal is connected by a R wire to the engine
compartment fusebox, where it passes to fusible link 8 and fusible links 1 and 7
which are connected in series. The feed from fusible link 7 is connected to the
auxiliary circuits relay mounted in the engine compartment fusebox.
The feed from fusible link 8 is connected to the passenger compartment
fusebox on an NW wire and from the fusebox to the ignition switch on an N
wire.
Ignition switch supply
When the ignition switch is in position I or II, the feed from fusible link 8 flows
through the ignition switch) to the passenger compartment fusebox on an LGW
wire. The feed continues through fuse 26 and is connected by an LG wire to
the auxiliary circuits relay. The feed passes through the auxiliary relay coil and
is connected to earth header C0018, via header C0285 LHD/C0288 RHD on a
B wire.
The auxiliary circuits relay is energised which closes the relay contacts. This
allows the feed from fusible link 7 to pass through the relay contacts to the
passenger compartment fusebox on a WG wire. The feed then passes through
fuse 15 and is connected, through header C0286 LHD/C0291 RHD to the cigar
lighter on an LGW wire. The cigar lighter is connected through header C0286
LHD/C0288 RHD to earth header C0018 on a B wire.

How do I flush the radiator in a Land Rover discovery?
are you asking where the drain is, specificaly on a rover or the whole general procedure? i don't know rovers specificaly but I am at the point of taking it down to the radiator shop. this way they dispose of the old fluid. it is more costly to properly dispose of the old fluid when you are doing it yourself. Note. radiator fluid does not go bad. it however very corosive to an engine and the chemical that keeps it from coroding your engine is what gets old and go's bad. i have started using "evans cooling" in my cars. its harder to change because you have to take out the small plugs in the block itself to completley drain the old fluid. but it is NOT corrosive to your block. Has a higher boiling point and uses less pressure which is better on all your seals and hoses. check out http://www.evanscooling.com/main21.htm if your interested in it. general instruction.
hook a hose up to the drain on the radiator. (best if vehicle is level or at a down hill slant) open the drain (after the engine is up to operating temp. so the thermostat is open--so you have to be careful IT IS HOT--)
Drain the fluid. close the drain. keep vehicle level or turn upward and refill the radiator. (you want uphill now so you don't get a air pocket in the top of the motor.) add fluid. start enging and let it get to the normal temp. the thermostat will open and then you will probably need to add mor flui. ( note you may have a closed system that you have a cap on the fluid level and must have the cap on for the system to work and do not remove while hot.)
again, take to the shop of a jiffy lube or something to change. it much esier.

What is wrong if the ABS TC and Down Hill warning lights are all on but the vehicle runs just fine?
I had the same problem - the LR dealer changed the sensor on the front left wheel and reset the computer: it was the sensor on wheel
AnswerYou will find that your traction contol has failed or your abs system has a failure, probably a sensor on your wheel or the abs module ,regardless ,it needs attention.my disco is in for same problem at the moment ill keep you posted on the exact findings. Rob... Answerit was the sensor on wheel AnswerRob here again .....back to dealer 4 times ,excuse after excuse, water on sensor, loose sensor ,oh you have a problem....modulator faulty. we will and did replace .three months down the track. the three amigos. abs tc down hill assist lights back on. my opinion? Do not buy any disco that that has those lights on,it seems to me that it is a very common problem with landrover vehicles it costs heaps to fix .2000 odd dollars and landrover pretend its not a problem. Oh i never heard of it before they will say.freelanders also have this problem or one similar.Get real Landrover! A recall is needed, its your brakes that are playing up,iwould love to see or here how many people are having this problem.Rob
AnswerI have a 99 dico II and same problem. No one seems to know what it is or how to fix it. Everyone just wants to charge you to do a diagnose and tell to take it to the dealer. Next time ill buy a cheap SUV. AnswerGenerally when this happens you will need to replace your front pads and rotors with LandRover parts, also for assurance if the code is for a certain sensor it will need to be repalced with the newer style that eleminates the abs sensor connector. The other cause of these lights can be the shuttle valve in the abs modulator. your scan tool schould tell you what is going on. Answertake the vehicle to a land rover specialist. not the dealer. have it checked to see the problem. alot of chain part stores have the obdII scanners and they will scan the system for you. most don't charge to do it. they want you to buy the parts there. the common factor of all three lights is the sensor. the next step up is the CPU. One thing to check on all rovers is the electrical grounds. Mine has four different ones. They can loose the ground on one and can cause similar problems. You may also want to check on landroverforums.com. lots of good info. lots of people that are smarter than me. hope it helps. duboffANSWER
If you don't use your Traction control, Down hill, you can also turn the damn lights off. I think that I put 2000 bucks into this before I gave up. I simply unscrewed the dash, pulled the plastic cover and put fire resistance fabric in the holes where the lights are. Guess what? No problem.
The real answer
the three amogos are usually caused by the rusted or damaged reluctor ring on one of the wheel hubs, the speed sensor cannot determine the correct wheel speed, it sees 1 wheel going 60 mph and because the sensor thinks the other wheel is going 65 mph, so the computer sends a fault code.....so the warning lights come on..........your abs and traction control are at odds with each other......thinking the wheel is loosing traction or skidding ? So you get the lights.....the hub or speed sensor must be replaced.........the trick is to find out which wheel or hub has the problem, the tolerance is critical with the sensor because it "sees" the wheel speed by a frequency of the wheel spinning by the sensor and reluctor ring........not a job for an amateur repairman.......it's your brakes ....do it right, is it worth risking an accident ? ............ it could cause an accident that is much more expensive than leaving it go, .......and blocking the lights out of the dash module is just plain ignorant the problem still exists that's how someone gets screwed...that rover will be sold to an unsuspecting family that does not know better.......can you say LAWSUIT?
