You don't have to replace the engine like the other guy said! You do However have to remove the intake to get at the coils. Land Rover was stupid in its design on this one. You might be able to get at them if you remove the seal that runs along the back of the firewall if you have small hands. Good Luck!

not a fun job do yourself a favor replace coil to you have to pull intake and intake manifold off and all the vacuum hoses on the fire wall the coil is behind the motor just so you know wires have to be put on coil after coil is mounted otherwise it wont slide back there a great program is alldatadyi.com for 20$ it shoes everything on a car step by step to part number book time difficulty rating i love its well worth it even has oem part# on all the parts for you're car trouble shooting too

I have replaced this on my 2002 disco it is located below alternator and has three hoses conected to it.It looks like an artificial heart.Got mine on ebay for half what autozone wanted!It is on outside of engine and is easy to change.

Normally starters do not smoke before they fail but if it does smoke it will soon go out either from overheating or if it has oil inside it causing it to smoke. Oil leaking from the valve cover could get inside the starter in short it out. Oil inside the starter could cause it to smoke and will soon cause it to fail. Be sure that the heat shield is installed over the starter or it will soon over heat and fail. Properly installing the heat shield is a little difficult so many times unprofessional mechanics will short cut and leave the heat shield off and cause a very very early failure.

No, not if the towing operator connects to the vehicle properly. Insure to fasten tie-downs to the places provided by the manufacturer ONLY. Do not tie-down to the axles as this may change the axle alignment. Use a car trailer towing system if at all possible not a front or rear lift tow set-up. Follow the towing instructions in the owners manual or contact a dealer for the proper towing instruction for your particular model.

There is no radiator "cap". There is a radiator plug located on the left-hand side of the radiator on the top. The actual "cap" is on the cream/white colored resevior on the left side of the engine compartment next to the battery. The black cap on there has two valves inside it that allow the pressure to escape when it becomes to great for the system.

The question is not clear because range rover are made by Land Rover. Therefore, there is no comparison between them. Um really neither some might run along time but you'll throw to much money into them. We have 120000 miles on ours but we've probably put $20000 trying to keep it up. And really unless you need it for like very treacherous conditions get one of those big 4 door jeeps or something similar.

Something this old all you should have to do is diconnect the battery and let it sit for a few minutes. Let it discarge all the power out of the circuits. Then reconnect it. It should now be in a "relearn" mode.

You need what is called a "Service indicator reset dongle" it is a very small computer that does all the programming for you. Your local Land Rover Dealer will have one and I'm sure they will be happy to help you, normally without charging you too.

You can do it. I have a 2004 LR Discovery and think the procedure is the same for a 2003. Open the hood and then:

1. Remove 2 bolts and 2 phillip head bolts from the plastic plate holding the top of the headlight unit and remove the plate.

2. Remove the grill by removing 3 plastic screws holding top of grill and pull the grill up and out.

3. Open the plastic plate (no tool required) located on the grill side of headlight unit and unscrew the Phillips head bolt that holds the bottom of the unit in place.

4. Pull the headlight unit forward.

5. Turn the round cap behind the bulb to be replaced counterclockwise and remove.

Be sure not to touch the glass part of the bulb or get it wet.

If you are talking about the service engine light you have to use a handheld scanner to identify the problem. After fixing the problem you use your scanner to erase any codes stored in the ecu in order for your light to go off.

In your owners manual, and near the serpentine belt there should be a routing diagram for your model that will show you the configurations(AC / no AC). also your owners manual should have a full set of specs for your specific model of vehicle.

The belt routing is dependent upon the car you have.

Code P0126 is: "Insufficient Coolant Temperature for Stable Operation" You can have a bad temp sensor or a stuck open thermostat.

The lowest light on the rear light clusters should come on. You need the ignition and headlights on for it to work

Depends on if the gasket is the only problem. Can be the head is cracked or warped. Get an estimate from a trusted shop.

1) The brake light switch behind the brake pedal needs to be replaced. The brake lights are tied to a solenoid that prevents the shifter from being moved without the brake pedal being depressed. If you put on the brakes and the brake lights do not light up, this is a likely cause of the problem (of course, check your fuses before replacing the switch). If you put your brakes on and the brake lights **do** light up, then this is not your problem.

2) There is a "C" clip under the shifter that can become dislodged, or break. The overview of the repair is to remore the shifter handle cover, look for the clip and replace. Check the manual for exact procedure.

Im not sure what you mean by brake pressure. But if you're comming down from a hill and you are constantly braking the discs overheat and you get lower brake preformance. If this is what you mean. try descending with while in gear and use the brake less. Otherwise It could be your braking fluid is too old and you need to replace it. Over time it takes on moisture and doesn't perform that good. Harrie Thanks Harrie but no, this one is really weird. I totally lose pedal pressure without even using the brakes (eliminating "brake fade") & the fluid is fairly new. It's something to do with pressure change but removing the reservoir cap to equalise the pressure (a theory) doen't even help
