In fact, studying Spanish and Italian simultaneously at evening classes many moons ago, I had to give up Italian after 6 months (I needed Spanish for my work) because I got, e.g. the numbers (uno/uno, due/dos, tre/tres, quattro/cuatro, cinque/cinco etc.) confused all the time.
