There are lots of places you can get a free laptop with a broadband package, however you do have to be careful... Often it is not REALLY free... as you can get the same broadband connection cheaper WITHOUT the laptop!

depends on the game. Diferent games have different specifications. If you download a game with higher specifications than your laptop has you are simply not going to be able to run it. Example: If your laptop has less ram or graphics than the game requires no way you are going to be able to run it.

This is correct but not for that reason (desktops are mostly empty space). Laptops are designed to use low power and be portable so they uses more expensive parts that use less power.

• Laptop parts are not the same from computer to computer, whereas desktop parts, with the exception of the plastic case, are fully interchangeable.
• Laptop parts are WAY smaller
• Laptop parts are extremely hard to replace because laptops are made so that you cannot open it, even to just clean the fan.

That would depend on the types of problems you are having. Some problems will make it impossible to do what you want, other problems won't interfere at all.

Most likely the driver for your graphics adapter was not found. And windows uses standard VGA driver. You need to check your video card manufacture website for drivers compatible with windows 7. I'm sure that NVIDIA has such drivers.
