Here is what some guy said online:

starting at about 2 tabs I got a pill cutter and cut the pills into quarters like before. I would take 1/4 less every MONTH instead of every week. Every time I reduced I noticed withdrawl effects starting about the 3rd day which lasted about 3 days or less then I would normalize until the next time I reduced.I was terrified of having a seizure but never had any. Once i got to 1 pill a night I felt that the 1/4 reductions were too much so I reduced by 1/8th pill per month, sometimes 3 weeks, depending on how good I felt. I was getting anxious to quit but did not want to go through withdrawl so I stuck with it. It was not too bad, during these times, I felt pretty good most of the time, but would have an occasional bad day. Once I got down to about 1/8 pill and had been on this dose for a week I figured this was not doing anyththing anyway so I decided to just quit. This was a mistake. I felt all the withdrawl feelings again like the first time I quit cold turkey. This time however i didn't go back to my full dose, i resumed taking 1/8 pill again and within a couple days I felt ok again. This showed me that the med was still had a hold of me. I resumed the 1/8 for the rest of the month and then split it again into just a little spec of a pill for another month. Finally I felt I was ready and stopped it altogether. To my surprise, I felt better than I had in a very long time for the first 3 days, then just slight anxiety and insomnia for a few days and that was it. No more withdrawl. It's been 6 weeks now and I feel real good, no more withdrawl. Sure I have the occasional sleepless night or a bad day but I had those before going on Klonopin. Now I can find other ways to deal with my problems than a pill. When I had gone to the internet for info on stopping these pills all I found were horror stories about people having seizures and having withdrawl effects for a year or more. All that did was to make me want to stay on them. I realize that alot of people have alot of worse problems than mine such as panic attacks and epilepsy so I can't say much on this subject. All I can do is to tell you my story and hope that it will be to you what i was looking for when I was looking for help.

i took lexapro for about 6 months they had to keep increasing the dosage because it would work just for a little while i actually became allergic to the drug because of this. you should have done went thru all the symptoms of withdraw after a couple of weeks. talk to you dr.. as i said i ended up being allergic to it. because of the dosage changes and such. please talk to your dr. It took me about 3 weeks to stop feeling disoriented after I stopped lexapro

My doctor told me that 10ml of Lexapro is "what we give little old ladies" and increased it to 20ml. I think you should be ok.

Yeah, I was taking 40 mgs a day for awhile. Now I take 30 mgs.

Check with a pharmacist first but maybe an anti nausealant (sorry I can't spell good) like Gravol would help. If you like to go the natural way, try Valarian root capsules or tea. You can find that at you local health store. Jessica

10 is a reasonable amount. If you start with too much sometimes it makes you even worse. I've been through that with Lexapro already. Seriously, low dosage and work your way up. I'm on lexapro and my sex drive has if anything improved since i began it.

I'm not a doctor, but i don't think it would, just from personal experiances.

is it safe to take 2 xanex pills along with valproic acid ( neighbor to depakote) and Lexapro?

Oxycodone is very addictive. You should not take it on a daily basis unless you absolutely have to. Lexapro, on the other hand, is not addictive at all. It is a very effective antidepressant.

***I wouldn't necessarily say Lexapro is not addictive, as it is very addicting physically. Abrupt cessation of Lexapro can be very dangerous and usually leads to Serotonin Syndrome, which from experience is not fun at all and can last 2-14 days.

But to respond to your original question, I take Lexapro 10mg and 30mg oxycodone instant release daily and have never had an issue. Though it is always wise to consult your pharmacist beforehand and/or your doctor. Different people react differently.

It normally takes lexapro 5 to 7 days to leave your system. Once that happens is when you may have side effects. If you do get side effects they can last for quite some time. You are normally soposed to wean of the medication under the care of your physician or psychiatrist. Consult with either if you start to feel troublesome side effects or are experiencing them now.

Yes, medically they are safe to be taken together. Obviously, you should never take a prescription other than your own as there are many risks with any medication and you should discuss them with your doctor or another healthcare professional before taking medications.

You should take your next dose as soon as possible. If you have been on Lexapro for a long period of time then the withdrawl effects can be unpleasant, as in causeing anxiety and/or depression in a way worse than before. If you do not like lexapro you should notify your doctor and come off of it slowly.

-------------------- I have been on lexapro 20mg and wellbutrin 150mg for about 6 months for depression and anxiety. Mixing these two has helped me with both mood and lack of attention/energy in my case. My impression is that Lexapro works pretty well with mood and anxiety, and wellbutrin helps attention, energy, sex drive, and concentration. So there are other symptoms like fatigue and lack of motivation left, but we know that anti-depressants don't attack all depressive symptoms.

Yes. According to the Tamiflu prescription information:

TAMIFLU has been shown to have a minimal chance of negatively interacting with other medications. Over-the-counter medications may be prescribed to reduce severity of symptoms while the antiviral action of TAMIFLU takes effect.
Antibiotics and Tamiflu should be OK taken together, however, depending on the reason for the antibiotic, you may want to get counseling from the Pharmacist or your doctor before using both.

I was on Prozac, then celexa, then Lexapro. My memory had become terrible. It was acutally kind of scary. I seriously thought I had the start of Alzheimers, but my doctor said it was the drug celexa, so she put me on Lexapro because of less side affects. My memory improved, but not 100% so I decided to go off of Lexapro. I took 10 mg a day, I cut it in half for about six weeks, then cut it in half again and planned on taking that for about six weeks. I ended up missing a dose two days in a row so decided to just go off of it. I have had some side effects. I feel something like a swooping feeling in my head. I also do get dizzy. For the dizziness and the swooping feeling, I have been taking Dramamine, an over the counter motion sickness pill, which helps. The only down fall with that is, they make you very tired. I would think, if you take one every day, your body would get use to it and the tiredness would go away. I only take them when I feel I will really need it...when the dizziness is bad.

To add to the answer above, which I can't improve, I just wanted to say "Thanks" for the suggestion to use Dramamine for the dizziness. I had toyed with the idea, but since it worked for you, I'm definitely going to give it a try while I still have some residual dizziness! BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!

About a month and a half ago, my doctor started me on lexapro 5mg in the morning for 6 days then up to 10mg a day. A few days after starting on the 5mg dose in the morning I started taking 15mg Serapax (Alepam) 1-3 tablets a day for anxiety. (The reason I started was because of I was majorly stressed about work issues and had major anxiety). Just after getting up to the 10mg Lexapro, I saw a psychiatrist as I was still really anxious. He told me to keep taking the 10mg of Lexapro in the morning and also the take amitriptyline 25mg 1 hour before bed (to help me sleep), then take 15mg of Alepam at time of going to sleep or whenever I had panic attacks throughout the day.

The next morning I took 10mg of lexapro after starting the amitriptyline the night before. It was horrible! I felt so weird and spaced out. I thought I was loosing my mind. I was about to pack my bags to go to the nearest pysch ward! I called the psychiatrist and went and saw my doctor as I felt that strange, not right at all.

I have been going through hell the last two weeks on this cocktail of drugs. I really think the combination of the lexapro and amitriptyline does not work.

Please let me know how you are going as I feel so alone and scared right now.
