Or you can detach the wires from the socket to lift the entire cover away for easy access. Save yourself a half hour of service @ $95/hour.

Hello. Being the owner of a '94 lexus, i am well aware of the car's propensity for power window problems. In fact, i realized how very common of a problem this was once my front passenger window stopped working. Well, after removing my door panel and inspecting the components i was quite surprised to discover that the inner workings of my door were what appeared to be one complete unit. This indeed was confirmed upon my calling a local toyota dealer. The entire unit needed to be replaced for a proper repair and it would run somewhere in the neighborhood of $235 for a "window regulator motor assembly." however, if you would rather be hot than cough up that exorbitant amount, such as was my feeling, there is another option. Open the phone book or search on the internet for a salvage or auto scrap yard in your area and simply call them. There are an unbelievable amount of cars out there which have been involved in accidents and damaged, yet have excellent, practically brand-new window regulators on them! A great resource requiring a simple phone call.

white smoke out of the tail pipe especially on '''warm''' weather usually means antifreeze/coolant leaking in to the cilynders. you may have a blown head gasket(cheapest to replace) and or a crack/warped cilynder head or crack block(not cheap) if the smoke its happening in '''Cold''' weather it could simply be condensation which is normal.

to find out exactly ,in a v6 engine ,simply take out the 2 middle spark plug (1 of each side) and crank the engine. if you see white smoke come out of either one that's where your leak is and you would go from there.(just crank the engine '''Do NOT''' let the engine run for long without sparkplugs or catalyc converter damage may occur.in a 4 cilynder engine take out any center spark plug and see where the leak is .(either way in a 4 cilynder engine you only got 1 gasket)

Often it's an alternator diode. Check the battery first. When batteries start to go bad they can often start to discharge over a couple hours. Take it to an auto parts retailer and have them test the battery and alternator for you. I had the same problem with my '92 Windom (ES 300). It was a faulty trunk mounted CD changer that was draining the battery.

Obviously check the oil level first. If OK, then sounds like your oil pump is bad.

All Lexus are pretty good used cars. I just bought a 1993 Lexus es300 with over 180 000 miles. It drives fine. All belts looked good... car started right up after being parked a few months. I added air to the tires... did an oil change and the car runs pretty good. There are minor electric things going on like the gage needles not lighting up, but it's a common old Lexus problem... no biggie.... for the price $2000 dollars, I got a great deal and drives fine... I simply fixed small things and the car drives fine...small leak in the radiator, etc...

Good luck with your used Lexus purchase.... However, I would be hesitant to buy one from a younger person under 21... unless you know they are selling the old car, their parents gave them.... I prefer mature owners....

Not narrowed down enough. If you mean the 300 and 400 SC's from '92 to '01 they are all great cars if properally serviced. The 300 was stopped being produced I think in '97. If the car looks like it was taken care of you will get many miles of driving pleasure.

Stop by your local AutoZone. They will hook it up to a handheld tester and print out which oxygen sensor is failing.

the best time would be for the 80,000 mile service or what ever survive is due before 100,000 miles. If you got the car new you might get reminders in the mail, or look in the owners manual that came with the car. It is always best to get it done before 100,000 miles.

Open the glove box. Remove all items. There are two black pegs holding the glove box in place on the sides. Reach into the glove box and twist the pegs 90 degrees and wiggle them out. The glove box should drop down revealing the door for the cabin air filter to the upper left. Press the tabs on either side of the door and pull out. Slide the old cabin air filter and frame out. Replace the filter in the frame. Slide back in and replace the door. Close the glove box part way and reinsert the pegs. Twist 90 degrees in the opposite direction. Takes 5 minutes max. Great way to do it yourself and save.
